I always chuckle when I think of a seminar in Newcastle years ago, when he was asked why he had a girls name.....

Dorian has a hot, fat-assed girlfriend. You have to give that to the man.

Dorian is certified Alpha, pwned bodybuilding in the 90's, one of the best era's IMO.

Lives the life right now, keeps to himself, hot wife, good business man, stays in shape, wears a solid gold watch. I saw him in Marbella he was in a table next to ours, I shook his hand and said hi to him as we went past.

Ticks all the boxes, I like to see fellow Brits doing well.

Dorian should read some philosophy or travel to Peru instead of indulging in all that hedonism.

Do you feel a life spent living by hedonistic principles is a life wasted?

I'm an atheist and feel that part of the purpose of my existence is to enjoy my time on here as much as possible. So I try and eat chocolate fondants and get as many blow jobs as I can...unfortunately work gets in the way, but the latter can be used to your advantage since the monetary and fiscal system was created it is imperative for any hedonistic to ensure he has a healthy wallet to pay his way through more hedonistic activities.

I am also an atheist. I have nothing against hedonism, but I think a life only built on that foundation, which lacks education, news, books, discussions etc. is too empty for my taste.

I too enjoy hedonism, but I think I enjoy an eclectic lifestyle even more, and the joy from e.g. biking or a long gym session well done. In other words, achieving to read 20 books in a year, or reaching a fitness / bodybuilding goal can also give you great pleasure, similar to the way pleasure is derived from engaging in hedonism.

Awesome stuff and well put. I guess there's great pleasure to be derived from achievements too, a healthy combination is probably the ultimate recipe

Now try reading 20 books in a yr, bang 20 quality women in 1 month, achieve fitness levels beyond your wildest dreams, win a Nobel Peace Prize, defeat ISIS, and you will truly feel more fulfilled than living a hedonistic lifestyle.

He sort of did that. Said he was looking for answers in philosphy and religion after being depressed. Went to Brazil for the Ayahuasca ceremony. Did DMT. Smoked weed. Etc. What he learned was that man's ego was the problem. Then when asked what made him win the Olympia, his answer was EGO  :D

Lol I don't even think you know what the term means.

Hedonism isn't about seeking pleasure above all else.

It's that a enlightened person should seek higher forms of pleasure to live the best life.

I.e. Drugs are shit for hedonism because they end up causing hangovers and come at the cost of all other parts of your life.

Working out is a higher form of pleasure because it gives pragmatic results(which allow for even more forms of pleasure) as well as a consistent natural form of pleasure throughtout ones life.

By some magic cynicism, stocism, and hedonism, were all perverted by history to have very different meanings from the original intentions of the belief system.

It'd be like people 200 years from now reffering to environmentalist, as people who don't work and find any reason they can to attack others.

Sure that might actually be closer to reality, but it has nothing to do with the actual belief system.

Hedonism is a subjective. So if drugs give you a high amount of pleasure and little downside, then they are good for a hedonistic lifestyle.
