Not a fan of his music but I will give him this. He is rarely given credit for inventing and being the father of Punk Rock. I bet he wouldn't even call his music Punk Rock but what else is it?  Some give that title to the Ramones but he came before them.

On another topic in his younger years he was the most ripped rocker bar none. In his older years his body deteriorated.

If by 'rarely' you mean 'constantly' then I agree.
