Religion is a mental disorder. I'm seeing a dangerous pattern here. Many of these jihadis are converted to islam in prison. Criminals especially the violent, two bit type criminals, aren't the brightest and best to begin with. Often raised in a religious home, with liberal amounts of bible thumping, administered to their puny brain in their childhood. Then, as they sort of grow up, they embark on a life of crime and sin, but are still neurotic about those ignorant religious superstitions rattling around in their pea brains.

After being in and out of jail for years since their teens, they start to see that they'll never get a real good job and get out of their life of crime. They realize that they are, at best, destined to spend most of their life in jail, and sooner than later, they'll die and end up in hell, being imprisoned there for eternity, to suffer torture for ever. That's how these numbskulls "think."

Then, they run into some jailhouse imam, who tells them that there is no way out for them, but if they convert to islam, and go out and kill for allah, then they'll go straight to heaven when they die fighting for islam. Most of them are even stupid enough to believe that there are 72 virgins waiting for them, for their enjoyment of heaven. It's the loop hole they were looking for! They had nothing to live for anyway, and nothing to look forward to in the non-existent "next life." Now they get an option, die in a blaze of glory for islam, killing as many infidels as you can, and your crimes and sins are forgiven by allah and off you go up the yellow brick road to heaven.

We really need to get religions banned from prisons. There is supposed to be separation of church and state. Prisoners have the right to believe in any horse shit belief, but the government should not be catering to, accommodating, and enabling religious beliefs. Some "good intentioned" people falsely believe that religion is a cure for criminal behavior, however history proves otherwise.

Islamic criminal converts are a clear and present threat to the USA. When they get released from prison, they should be tracked closely, and fatal accidents arranged for each of them.

Religion is one of the many "CAUSES" of criminal behavior. Religion is full of hypocrisy, even the cherished golden rule "Do unto others' is completely ignored.  If Christians actually followed this principle, there would be no judges locking people up in the first place.  When a judge hands down a sentence, is he really treating that person the way he would want to be treated.  Personally,I despise religion and see it as the root cause of the majority of suffering on the planet today.  Any ideology that values delusion and irrationality over logic and reason is bound to cause misery and lots of it.

Ta-da-da-daaaa! Again not a religion problem but a people broblem. Christianity preaches nothing but good, but most people really don't care about it, doesn't matter if it's isms, ists or -theists.

Aren't chinese and japanese buddhists? Well damn, you'd never think that when you observe the probems in those countres.

Religion is a virus of the mind, an abstention of critical thinking, and the opiate of the masses.

Education, coupled with sanctioned breeding, is the only solution to the world's problems.

Unfortunately, the PC brigade have been winning the war of media noise of late. The good news is: the dumb religious folk are fucking things up to the point where liberal leaning people are starting to see the merit in practical (not final) solutions.

This.

Also the reason why educated conservatives are more likely to vote liberal now. How the republican guard has not put in plans to counter this is beyond craZy. They still align themselves with evangelical no-nothings

What's incredible is every year during the Haaj you always hear stories of how many people died over there or were trampled or if there was a fire in the tents and  camps where people who can't afford hotels sleep... My parents went... And at that very event in the picture my mom passed out from heat exhaustion (you have to go around the kaaba - black structure- 7 times) and my dad had to carry her over his shoulder and out of that crowd... And its considered a huge blessing for you to be right in the center and touch the black bricks of that structure so people are struggling to get to the center.

Here is the part where I laughed so hard when my dad told me about the experience, there is one step in the haaj where you have to go and collect 70 pebbles from the ground and throw them at these pillars that represent the devil as if you are stoning the devil (this is actually the part where many people get trampled and die)... So when my dad got there he was like "ugh I have to go pick up 70 pebbles" because you have to like show your devotion by suffering and picking them all up yourself... Then this guy comes up to him and goes "we are doing this new thing now where you can pay me $200 and I'll go collect the 70 pebbles for you and all you have to do is throw them" my dad was like "do I still get credit with god?  Since I'm not suffering and collecting myself"  and the guy came up with some bs explanation why its ok and my dad being the ever so savvy business man was like, "I don't have time for this shit... Here is $400 go get me and my wife 140 pebbles and let's move on with this" .... Even at the holiest place for Muslims you still have people bending the rules..... Maybe its done more for the elderly who can't get their own pebbles.... But its just turned into a business now.

Whatever makes you happy...... If you feel closer to god there then more power to you.  But Needless to say, I shall not be going.

Happens with all religions. The reason Jews are seen as good with money though out history is because it was illegal for Christians to charge interest on money.  So, they fix the problem, borrow from the Jew and let him take the punishment for the sin.  People will do anything to justify an action as to not feel like a dick.
