The modern cell phone is the same as a virus or an addictive drug.  Millions of sheeple are completely zombified by these things and cannot stop themselves from looking at it and taking duck face selfies.  While they are gazing at it, pay attention to them... they are totally tuned out and unaware of what is going on around them.

I'm sure there is a great big smile on George Orwell's decaying corpse right now.

Why?  George Orwell was a leading Socialist whose very goal was a completely open society, with the free exchange of ideas and the ability to pursue art and self interest in any way one saw fit without restriction.  You have Orwell completely wrong.

I saw a girl (when i say girl..i mean a mid 20s) by herself at the beach, jumping in the air kicking her heels to her ass and taking selfies of her self doing it. The beach was dead and only a few people around but i just sat and watched her about 50 yrds away as she continued to perfect her selfie over and over again. Not once did she look up to see if anyone was watching her embarrasing antics. I often gaze at people taking selfies in hopes they get embarrased but they almost never do. Id be mortified if someone caught me doing something like that.

But im not a sociopath, so thats probably why. I wonder how there are so many sociopaths today, its crazy

Exactly.  People are not living in the moment when they're looking at everything through camera lenses.  They are capturing what they think is the moment, but it's just not the same.

Whoever decided to put cameras on mobile phones should be pistol whipped.

I think it's part of the 'new brave world' agenda. Everything is being watched, make taking pictures and putting your information out in the web seem cool and entertaining etc. and prety soon you have a complete control of information of the population.

I remember the time when putting yourself in the net was considered awkward and even suspicious. Oh well, I'm deep in this bitch.

Why does that make someone a sociopath. Every great artist  throughout time  always had a self portrait.

I took this pic in the locker room or my gym. Yes people saw me do it.  Big fkng deal, its a picture.  I have a saying that I use for just about everybody in this world..... When you pay my bills then you can tell me what to do

Whats so gay about ?  I was moving my phone around to get different lighting and I was like "oh this looks cool" and  I snapped a picture.  Gayness never entered my mind. I see deep abs, thick pecs , shredded delts and a vascular arm.

Its only Uptight if you want it to be.

What's gay about it? LOL!
Surely you're had some stroke mag in your hand one day going through the pages to then live that odd moment where you cross some gay add (every hetero mag has them...)

The add would have a pic just like the one one you took and would say "talk with live hot studs" some shit like that. Guess I'm having flashbacks, lol...

Off to the random pic thread to clear that of my mind, lollll

But yes... You jacked man! Good build, still find it sooo creepy when guys take pics all pumped up in the locker room as I never even take off my shirt. I'm a cover up type of guy so surely I see this much different!

I recently hung out with my nephew who is 21 and rather intelligent.  Well educated, speaks well, going for his masters in some economic field....

On the flip side, he couldn't stop thumb fucking his phone texting people chronically and is a big fan of rap music.

It's baffling.

Today's youth doesn't stand a chance with the bad parenting and Twitter, Facebook, Dickoff.com enthusiasts.
I'm guilty of having a FB account at one point, then tossed it when your realize...nobody gives a shit and most use it to post their highlight to lead you to believe their "livin the dream".  (Pic on vacation, followed by "we are so blessed") to not seem like a self indulgent girl.

If you weren't on FB, would you even be a part of those peoples lives?  So how important is that relationship really?

I like the tshirt "Stop playing with your phone".  Back:  You fucking lemming.
It's would be the anti douche revolt.  Maybe get a march going.

I am nowhere near as bad as generation nothingness, but I have been making a more conscious effort not to use my cell phone when I am out in public. When I am in the privacy of my home, different story. However, when in the company of others, I've been leaving it in my pocket more.

I gave up my personal cell phone.  I have no desire to become a cell zombie, either voluntarily or involuntarily.  I have seen entire families at a restaurant ignore one another while waiting on their food.  Not conversation at all.  Just cell phone crap.

When the food arrives they cannot bear to be without their phone for more than a few bites of food.   The parents are just as bad as their children.

Well, cell phones can and do serve an important purpose, if used properly. Many people need their cell phones for job-related issues and some people have families and kids. Its always good to have a cell phone, especially so your significant other can reach you in case of an emergency with your kids. I don't agree with the notion that cell phones are all bad and we should do without them.

There is a big difference between using your cell phone at work or for an emergency call, compared to using your cell phone when out to dinner withyour family. You just need to balance the use of time you spend on your cell phone.  Balance is the key. But people are not good with balance. We eat too much, sleep too little, and are overworked. We care too little, and are too greedy with our needs. Like most things, you just need a balance.

speaking of cell phones, i d like one like in the "old" times, that solely acts as a fucking phone and not a computer or fucking camera... Does it still exist?

you know, like those:

with modern technology they could make a phone as small as a pager, or even embed it in a watch. Id buy one immediately. I simply have no use for the other functionnalities. If i want to watch movies work or surf i simply use tv and computer.

Actually Dana White carried an old flip phone for years up until very recently when he had to switch to a iPhone because there was some sort of lawsuit pending against the UFC and the laywers needed to be able to record all his text messages from here on out.

Guys like Dana White and Jerry Jones aren't out taking selfies, searching the web and posting on facebook.

They just need something that will make calls, receive/send texts and last forever without charging.

People have been taking pictures for hundreds of  years

I like the technology. i have quite a few pics of myself in great shape from the last ten years or so.....HUNDREDS of my kid,  GF  etc.

I'm glad i have these pics, they are moments in time, like tears...in rain.  And I'm sure in ten, twenty years i'll be even more glad that i have them
