Generation Selfie Bowl.

That Marshawn Lynch piece - he spoke yesterday for 2 minutes - was some of the most ignorant, self-involved, victim shit that I've ever seen.  Dude grabs his penis on field, refuses to speak to media, and then whines about the attention.  He's making millions in a sport funded by the fans... "I'm here to prepare for a game, and you're trying to ask me all these questions..."  I'm not sure he understands that's the point of media day lol.

So I think I'm rooting for shady brady at this point.   Lynch is the worst.

4 of the last 7 or so have been great, and some of the greatest games in NFL history.

my sister, brother-in-law and their eldest son just arrived in Phoenix ... they live in Boston and they're taking my nephew to the Super Bowl for his birthday ... they know the Patriots owner (Kraft) and so they'll be getting a little "VIP" access there.

myself? I don't really care about the game, but will be rooting against the Patriots anyway haha.

that is like 50% ratio. Sucks, should be 100%.

But... When you have a mean witch changing the channel all the time, hard to get into the game.

Pretty sweet for them.  I have a buddy who got a flight out there and gets to go to some cool parties - Snoop Dog, possibly Playboy, but doesn't have a ticket.  Right now they're up to 8 grand or something crazy.

That's a dynamic I wouldn't want to deal with.

That "dynamic" is no longer... But lost my interest now for football and hockey. Was a huge pisser to deal with. The worst? The station was changed to cooking shows and shit like that.  Really? Let's miss history in the making to watch some fat all twat cook up chicken, yes, let's do that...Was having an absolute shit fit beyond words, fuck...

Televisions aren't very expensive, why didn't you just buy a second ?

Well, there is nothing wrong with having a favorite team, then when your team doesn't make it, rooting for another team win.

True. Had one even, was too broke to set up the cable on it. No joke...

yeah, lots of fancy Super Bowl parties ... the last time the Patriots were in the SB my sister & her husband were there and they mingled with various "celebrities" ... don't remember all the names that she dropped (haha) but I do recall that she said that they had a couple of drinks (and chatted) with Steven Tyler for quite awhile.

Yeah, I've heard you get that kind of access to celeb at these things.  I'm sure the experience is amazing, but outside of something like that or the occasional luxury box score, I prefer football at home on TV.

Baseball is different.

are you a Yankees season ticket holder? or how many baseball games (approx) do you attend each year?

Had a buddy who was a seaon's ticket holder. His four seats were 37,500 per year, roughly 12 rows up from third.  In the Old Stadium's last year, without notice they doubled the price to 75,000.  When the new stadium was getting built he was invited to a private tour and then to discuss transition.  New price at the new Stadium was 161,000 so he said fuck that.

So now, I go to YS maybe 1-2 times a year, catch the Yanks at Fenway once or twice, and may catch an occasional non Yankee sox game if the tickets find me.  That's about it.  I will be catching a game at the Rogers center this year though, as it's by one of our offices up there by you.

Eh, I am sort of split on this. The media sucks, so who cares. However, he is a jackass.

I really don't care who wins the superbowl, but Id love for seattle to lose just to see this moron walk off the field boohooing that he lost.

This jerk off would be working at a car wash or Burger King if not for the NFL...
He will blow through his money and be broke by 50.
If he wants to see his future, he has to look no further than the 30 for 30 on Lawrence Taylor.

holy shit, crazy prices!

my pair of Blue Jays season tickets (first row behind the plate, but without the waitresses and cushy seats) cost $8,748 ... and that's after they just increased the rate this winter ...

but I guess that's the difference between watching a storied franchise and perenially contender play in a 1.5B park, and a Canadian team that plays in an outdated stadium and that hasn't made the playoffs in 30+ years.  :-\

22 years to be exact...

Wow, that's like slightly more than $50/ticket.  If you even want to dump a Yankee game I'll pay you double.

I will caveat that the 161k included food.  But still.........

Geezus where to start.

1. The NFL is trying to fine for everything. Be it bringing gold shoes to a media event or a hat with his logo on it (I'll get back to this in another post) while putting on a NEW ERA that the NFL incidentally sponsors, uses and endorses.

2. The only ones who see him grab his crotch are you and NFL execs. Get serious. No one other than that gives a shit.

3. The only ones that fine him is the NFL. To the best of my knowledge the Seahawks haven't or rarely have. Why? Because they're a business. Lynch is a draw. Get rid of him and the business loses viewership and attendance. He's the best RB in the league far and away.

4. He plays football. That's his job. Media day or not, it's s dog and pony show. He says just enough. Obviously he's not upset because some butthurt football fan says its not right.

Maybe he will maybe he won't. But look at it like this. He probably realizes he won't play forever. As a matter of fact there was a little talk about him retiring this year (I doubt it though). That being said. It looks like he's already branding himself with the beast mode logo and the hats were already sold out from what I understand. He's has commercials that show him in a different light. Bottom line is, dude knows how to make money besides playing football.

I've decided that I'm rooting for a 26 point New England blowout.   Then, 5 minutes after celebrating their victory, we're given news of the HUGE suspensions for the 2014 season for Brady and/or Belichick.  Wins all around.

this is on at half ten on ch4 in the uk. ch4 has pretty much been the home of american football and the superbowl over here since the 80s. saying that, i might watch this on a us channel stream to get a better flavour of the event with all the adverts n all. still have to watch the perry on telly in hd though :P
