Get on that bridge M-Center. Good opportunity for a televised front double bi followed but a quarter turn side tri.

Just saying. Arnold's dad died, he kept training. He was dead, what's the point.

Let's just feel grateful the hand of GOD prevented the plane from crashing into the gym.

If I were the pilot I would have give more throttle and point the nose of the plane upwards. That way the plane flies upward. Gains altitude, away from the hard and busy surface of the earth.

if left engine went out, they'd still have the right engine to provide enough lift to land the plane......the fact that it flipped this way  clearly shows the left wing lost serious lift....damn, Turbo Prop Engines are Tricky sometime...it could have worse if they didn't make it to the River....

Asians have been having a problem keeping planes in the air as of late.
Asia and India are notorious for putting very inexperienced pilots in big aircraft. Not to mention the training departments there are old school and haven't kept up with the times. Over there the captain has absolute authority and the first officers are not encouraged to speak up or question the captain.  In the rest of the world each pilot is told to monitor the other one and call out anything unsafe or non standard.  Lots of people on the aviation boards are commenting that from first look this accident looks very preventable.  All that was needed was full rudder on the operating side engine to prevent the aircrafts roll.  I guess in the coming weeks we'll find out if there were other factors or malfunctins

Aviation Experts are saying that these type of Turbo Prop Planes are hard to recover from a stall if the pilot waited to late to take action.....the Colgan air crash in Buffalo 6yrs ago was a similar plane as this one......it stalled on approach and flipped

Here is a very similiar crash. Caused by vmc roll. Pilot would hav survived with enough rudder pressure.

How convenient the driver had a dashcam.  Not one week goes by without some dashcam footage showing up on the news.  Is Doom the only one not using a dashcam?  What motivates so many people to set up a car camera?  Is a dashcam going to become standard equipment on new cars?  Bah!

knowing what to do in these life or death situation is crucial, it's sad that most pilots who would find themselves in these situation won't react in time to save the plane and the lives.....the US has done a Pretty good fucking job with pilot training and Aviation Standards.......AirAsia is now blaming the co-pilot for the December crash and now, it looks like they about to point fingers at this pilot as well...Sad

So it seems. Do you have a dashcam?  Would you?  What would be your motivation for setting one up?  If a dashcam were an option on a car how much would you be willing to pay to have one? $100? $500?  more?   What exactly are you expecting/hoping to catch on video?  Bah!

Why were they rescuing luggage?

1) Indeed to facilitate survivor rescue.  But also;
2) To conduct a failure analysis.

You have to know where everything was in the plane. You also have to examine the luggage to see if there was some sort of shenanigans.

The plane will be rebuilt in a warehouse and examined.

Pilot had zero change of recovering from a stall at that altitude.  A multi-engine turboprop would need minimum of 3000 feet altitude for stall recovery.   Even a single-engine plane couldn't have recovered from that low altitude.

Way off base with that 3,000feet.  Some airlines use to train that you had to recover within 100 feet to be certified in the aircraft.

I know Asians cant drive, does this also carry over to flying?

Asian guy almost took me out yesterday, flew right thru a 4-way stop at around 40 MPH.
Maybe he was blind-folded (with dental floss)...

Funny while I spent so time in Italy one summer, I swear those guys are the worse drivers ever! Completely insane, trying to run red lights, speeding aggressively, not a care in the world for others on the road, like it's a race every time behind the wheel
