Serious.
I was just at subway, getting a sandwich..The guy in front of me was with his kid, and when he left he left his wallet on the counter. I didnt notice at first, I was telling the girl the shit I want on my sandwich. ..I pick it up, and the thing is loaded with cash. I can't even close it. straight up no bullshit .....I didn't hesitate , I went outside in the parking lot and gave him his wallet back.
would you have dipped a couple of twenties out of it?
-
No because at the register
your on camera anyway...did
he give u a finders fee??.
I believe in karma..I would have given it back
-
Gotta give it back, howd u feel if you left your wallet? Karma is bullshit, its just the right thing to do.
-
no finder's fee, which was a little shaky ...but I don't expect anything.....you shouldn't have to be rewarded for not being a shithead.. but I would have, so I hear you
-
You did the right thing. Nothing good would come out of snagging some twenties. Gotta think people carrying around that cash are up to no good. What if he realized he was a few hundred short and seemed vengeance.
-
Please stop dining at Subway. Thanks.
Your friend,
BCF
-
You're such a beta. A true alpha would have taken the wallet and told the guy he took it. He would have said "I took your wallet. What are you going to do about it?"
Just kidding :) You did the right thing. Trust me, you did!
-

Haha i was thinking the same thing
-
Run and put the wallet right back into his hand sparse as a mofo.

I was thinking more that it's Wednesday, he was driving a minivan, late model but nothing special and he was with his young boy....
probably got paid today and cashed his check....I cant do that to people

The same thing you did.

I'm not following
-
I would hope you did what most people would do, but who knows.
-
Lucky he didn't give you a dirty look. Some lady once left her purse in a grocery cart and headed to her car. I noticed and grabbed it and ran over. She just tugs it out of my hands, gives me a dirty look and quickly looks inside to make sure I didn't steal anything. No thank you. Nothing. Fucking c Unt
-
$40 to the Subway girl , keep the rest .

That's bullshit..I've had that happen too. And you're like "I could have just robbed your stupid ass like 90 percent of the people would."
This guy was very grateful
-
You did the right thing.
The guy...
-has a child
-drives a minivan
-possibly got paid and doesn't have a bank account to direct deposit his check leaving him to cash it at one of those check-cashing stores
-is dining at subway
I could be completely wrong, but all these clues point to this guy being an average joe, trying to survive by caring for his family and buying affordable (although probably bad) food to feed his family.
Most people have direct deposit set up from their workplace and, if they don't, at the very least they deposit their paycheck into a bank account and use their debit card for everyday purchases. The fact that he is walking around with loads of money makes me wonder whether (A) he works off the books, (B) is illegal, (C) gets paid in cash at his workplace or (D) has so much debt that he can't keep money in the bank for fear that it might be garnished by a debt collecting company.
I don't know, but my mind would be turning in all directions..

Rough estimate...prolly 1500-2000. No BS. the criminal in me was like"score"...but I guess I'm actually a decent human being because as I'm thinking that I'm giving him his wallet back

You should have pulled his pants down, tucked that wallet in the crack of his ass, gave him a swift smack on the bottom and then winked at his kid!

you did the right thing

Karma will reward your unselfish act. Starting now.

That would be funny if he told the girl at the register. ..ma'am I just found this wallet outside.
..and you run out and give it right back to him ..haha

A few months back a bum was outside asking for change
Bought him a 12 meat ball sub with chips and soda
Yea I would of given the wallet back, if I was pre-24yrs old I would of pocketed the cash and mailed him back the empty wallet
-
Personally the satisfaction of giving the wallet back without taking any cash would be more satisfying than taking the money. Restoring people's faith in humanity is priceless. Do onto others as you would have done onto yourself

Knowing me I would of probably taken the whole wallet and then tipped the lady at subway a dollar or two to clear my conscious..gotta remind myself Im a good person lol
-
You totally did the right thing, glad to read this. I think it brings terrible luck to come accross cash like that you don't deserve. If you know for fact it belongs to a certain person, without question man. Surely you will feel good about this when going to bed tonight.
I mean surely you would appreciate it if someone did the same to you....

Similar thing happened to me last year during rush-hour at a trainstation.
What i did was i picked up all the money and then did a quick assessment of the "victim" who had lost the money.
Seemed like a reasonable fellow (white, in his 30s, probably going on a longer trip judging by the clothes, luggage and backpack) so i gave him all the money back.
If he had looked like a criminal (looked dodgy or had shifty eyes) or would have been muslim or black i wouldn't have returned the money since i do not support neither ISIS, gangrape or porchery.
Felt really good to have saved his vacation or whatever it was.
It was the right thing to do Palpatine!

Would be great to be that wallet and be in the middle of this action.
-
Only unsavory non-tax paying scumbags walk around with that amount of cash at any given time.
I would have alerted the authorities immediately.
-
that's an easy question, give it back.
now let's say a guy forgets his jockstrap in the gym, would you give it back to him or take it home with you?
now that's a much tougher question!

The jockstrap would go home to make tea with.

Would add to my collection yes (concerning the strap).

u must be white

I would have gave it back.
...years ago I was the gym and some dude walks by, reaches in his pocket for something and drops three one hundred dollar bills right in front of me
I looked skywards and said to myself "God, why are you testing me!" and gave back the money....saw the guy a little later in a bar and he paid for my round.
another time a guy came in my store where I was working and when he left and forgot this ratty looking envelope. I didn't think of it and threw it away. a couple of hours later he called in a panic and asked if he left it saying he had cashed his paycheck and had it in the envelope. I dug it out and told him to come back and get it.
lol, he picked it up to many thanks then showed back up 15 minutes later and gave me a bottle of Goose.

You did the right thing...
Something similar happened to me. Two days ago, I removed my wedding band at the gym because I was deadlifting (midget weight for the getbig millionaires around here but pretty heavy for me). My fingers were hurting and preventing me from grabbing the bar properly.
In any case, I took off to the rowing machine and completely forgot about it. I called the gym back when I got home but the trainer couldn't find it...
Long story short, the next day, the guy at the counter said someone brought it back to him... You have no idea how "right" the world felt that day. I asked around and it turns out it was one of the trainer there, biggest mofo I've ever seen in my life, never speaks to anyone and lookds badass. Today, I knew he was working so I gave him an envelope with 100$ and a voucher for a high end restaurant where I live...
I don't believe in karma or anything but I've always treated people right and I think somehow it came back... That ring was my father's... It has immense value.
So, Groink, thanks for doing the right thing!

The trainer will use that voucher wisely and supersize his Big Mac meal.

if the wallet was that of a muslim, black, brown or whatever else than a white mans, I would have taken the cash, then taken the wallet to some lost items center or something.
I support the resistance, I oppose isis

You did the right thing regardless of how much was in it and if you had taken it you would have been on camera anyway. He'd have been back a few hours later going crazy looking for it and the first thing they'd be doing is looking at the CCTV.
I was in the bank lodging some cash into the hole in the wall and when I went to get an envelope there was 200 euros inside (somebody had left the money in it unsealed and right on the table unaddressed). For a split second I was thinking "what a dumb fucker" and gonna throw my money in with it but I thought about the camera and handed it into the desk. Only 200 euros. Cool story, bro.
When I was in college I was walking with a buddy through a carpark and we found 150 euros (3 x 50 notes) sitting on the ground between cars. He pocketed it straight away but he gave me 50e to shut me up.

Not true. He is a good man as are you but his point is as valid as your good deed. If I may?
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven." Matthew 6:1

I dont believe in God. But that's not really important. You must know him better than I. All I see is him shooting everyone down.

I'd have returned it unless the guy was acting like a little shitbird. Last time I was in Subway a woman ahead of me said "Yes" to toasted, watched them toast it and remove it from the oven, and then exclaimed "Did you toast my tuna?!" And made them make it again. So I stole her purse.
2k I'd return. 100k I wouldn't. Idk. $8,673 is my threshold for not having to kill a man to get his money. 6 if I get to beat him with an iron bar. That's good value. With today's med costs not many people will let you beat them with an iron bar for $2,600.

2k is a nice score...but it's not life-changing. Fun money. 100k you can do some real things with.
-
You did the right thing, unquestionably.
$2k is nothing - the little bit of joy you might get out of putting a few bucks in the bank or blowing it is not worth taking a hardworking Dad's grocery money just because he was a little careless.
Plus those places usually have surveillance cameras anyway. Not worth getting in trouble over. Perhaps if it had been a winning 9-figure powerball ticket I'd say otherwise though. ;D
-
If you even have to ask you're a beta pussy. You're either a scumbag who takes shit that isn't yours or a normal person who doesn't.

I would have mailed it to Big Ro for contest prep expenses.

About a year ago there was a party at my work, after the party I had to lock up the building and came across a nice Prada purse, I opened it to see if I could find who it belonged to and found not only a crap load of cash but also a check book belonging to the husband of the lady who owned the purse, the guy is a baseball player and makes millions, I gave them a call and told her I had the purse, she came and got it the next day, didn't even get a thank you, not that I expected anything but damn....
