Old video. July 2010. I watched this clip prior to this mornings shoulder workout.

If that is indeed 185 that Jay is using, that is very impressive.

My shoulders have always been very weak. Nothing seems to work for them.

its weird that guys with a lot of muscle like that and decades of experience are strong
it goes against everything we know about strength and what the human body is capable of

What looks like barbell front raises is really upright rows with 185. Jay is just coming out a bit away from his body to help cheat the bar up a bit...

This. Looks more like a variation of an upright row. Impressive strength regardless from a BB that I never associated as being that strong.

Inclining 405 for double digit reps is a helluva lift. You're right though, strong guy. It's possible.

Negative. Those are "yellow handle" plates that weigh 10 kilos each.  That's 110 kilos total including the bar. TOTAL weight is 242 pounds plus a pound or two from the spring type collars.

The yellow handles are visible when he racks the weigh at the end of the set.

Nah, there's a video of him training with Centopani.  He out lifts Evan in everything by quite a good margin.  Everyone likes to make fun of Jay but he is quite strong.

Jay was a big strong fuck, but in the video from Iceland where he is doing inclines- that's the weight on the bar., 110 kilos.  Unless someone in that gym repainted  the "grab point handles" yellow, which of course makes absolutely no sense.

it's not 405. look at the handles on the weights.

yellow = 15 kilo
blue= 20 kilo

3 yellow, one blue each side. 150kg/330lbs

At Jay's strongest he inclined 405 for a couple reps. Any video's of him doing more than that on incline are with fake plates and/or mis-identified plates. Jay's mental illness made him a candidate for using fake plates from time to time...

On Jay's 2003 video: New, Improved & Beyond; he hit 4 reps with 405LB on incline press
