Title: Changes in bodybuilding over the years: My initial exposure and evolution
Post by: Howard on February 10, 2015, 06:53:57 AM

The one certainty in life, is change. As we age, we notice the world change and it isn't always easy to accept.
I first got exposed to  bodybuilding as a 12 yr old boy. I was blown away seeing Arnold the Austrian Oak, posing down with Sergio Olivia aka the Myth. This intense battle of muscle flexing was the 1970 IFBB Mr, World. It was shown in primetime on Saturday's ABC Wide World of Sports.

Fast forward to today. The number of gyms and quality equipment is off the chart now, compared to when  I started.
The contests  now have more bikini babes and MPD models but wtf, it is, what it is.

Not exactly the Tom Platz wig of bodybuilding stories but still a lot of homo erotica, well done Howie!

*as a side note the late teens  were the best time to be a fan of bodybuilding,  being so naive and innocent,  full of hope and potential...... good times.

I had a poster of Arnold "Commando" movie at like 9-10yo. It was just a "hero" movie star for me, little did I know back then that I'd start lifting at 15 and get hooked on it.
