Don't take that as a compliment so fast....... Same thing he said about Zane and Ferrigno; in other words, he would've won with any physique anyway because he had the mental drive the rest could only dream of.

There's a full interview with him if you google it and in it he states he took deca + dbol like most back then.

The magazines had him at 5'10" and 230. I have a magazine interview where he said at his best he was 254.  Many have said he was no where close to 5'10".

He competed for so many years in various levels of conditions. At his best I truly believe he was the best of all time. Who had his combination of size with a tiny waist?

Tiny joints and long muscle bellies is why he looked so good.  Too bad his biceps weren't more peaked.  I met him in 1989.  His hands were huge.

When u are the champ. U always see other people that u know could crush you if they just decided to get u...I believe all champs realize this...champs are not delusional, they are clever! Most of them are pretty aware of genetics, gear and mind game!

Its like Phil Heath, he is pretty aware that Cederic could crush his little ass if he had the will, but lucky no one out there with the right genetics have the will at the moment!

C'mon now that's a cheap shot , over a forum debate.

Lots of cheap shots around here. This dude merely has to visit my gym and have a chat instead of posting shit on Getbig.

Of course I photoshopped Sergio on One Mile Beach. I got the photo of him from the net and put him on the beach to

make him look better. No one has looked better posing, ever. Big, long, flowing muscles. One of a kind.

Here is another mug shot for Ironmeister! :) We all liked Sergio when he was at my gym and home.

i'm sorry and no offence intended but that's a load of fuckin pish.

Try 210 mid 60's and 222 in 1972.   Tiny bones, 5 feet 9, little tiny Beatlejuice head = illusion of greater mass.
240 in 1980 in very fat shape.

I still think he looked fantastic but no need to exaggerate.

The best genetics ever, and the best physique ever IMO. There have been a million good physiques and quite a few great ones over the years, but he's probably the only guy I've ever seen whose physique I actually envied.

Built an incredible physique on a shitty diet, working long hours in shitty jobs for little money, and not getting all that help from Weider like Arnold did.

Would have been better than Wheeler, Dillett, Baker, Sean Rey and all those other freaks when competitive BB peaked had he been born a quarter century later.

Honorable ND,

I read one of those Nautilus books that featured Oliva as what Jones regarded as the "ultimate physique."

In that text, Jones said he was 233 in the photos he took of him in Ocala.

I tend to trust Jones when it comes to measurements like height, weight, arm circumference et al., especially because he had no reason at all to lie when it came to Sergio's stats.  After all, it wasn't as if Sergio went running around the world, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Nautilus es todo!" :D

Moreover, Casey was Jones' "baby," so to speak.  He was pushing Casey hard in Ironman even when it was clearly evident that the kid, while exceptional, was nowhere NEAR the top dudes of the day, not limited to, but certainly including, Arnold.

But to speak to the topic at hand, yeah ... Sergio is definitely up there for best genetics and best build ever.  By all accounts, he was a hard-working dude but a bit dopey (hence Arnold "tricking" him more than once).  And he readily admitted that he didn't give two shits about dieting to get ultra-ripped, and many accounts of his drug use are ... ehh.  It's only hearsay to me, but even one of the old Ironagers talked about how he'd eat -- yeah, EAT -- Dianabol tabs by the handful.  When onlookers had a WTF moment, he'd smile and say, "Time to grow!"
