Title: I never knew that the guy that actually sang this song was white

I had seen this video several times over the years... and I had heard the song on the radio many times

I always thought that the singer was black.

As it turns out, the song was in a movie called "Streets of Fire"... and the black guy was an actor.

Either way, the song is very 80's

Dan Hartman, wrote alot of great songs in the 80's. Had a few hits himself. I think he was one of the AIDS casualties of the 80's. Usedto love INSTAT REPLAY, fun song.

Awesome movie, Michael Pare, William Dafoe and Diane Lane looking hot in her prime.  Butterfly knives and a fight with sledgehammers.

Damn Itunes won't let you get any song off that soundtrack album except I Can Dream About You individually.  I'd really like to not have to buy the whole album to get Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young, a great Jim Steinman song.

i never know survivor and eye of the tiger was white guys or looked anything like this

close your eyes while listening isnt it easy picturing a black guy singing it?
