Or what got you into BB in the first place? Mine was a 1987 Muscle & Fitness mag with Arnold on the cover for the movie Predator. I was about 8, I still have that magazine at home.

I can't remember, but just yesterday, I was 15 minutes early for a lunch and decided to go to the Barnes and Noble next to the restaurant and check out some muscle mags. As soon as I got in there, I started to feel creepy. Then I looked at the sad assortment of mags, all with jacked oiled black men lifting weights while yelling and wearing sunglasses and it was just too much, even for me. I couldn't even pick one up, the gay was too strong.
Instead I went pseudo-intellectual and looked at the pictures in the latest issue of The Economist.

Saw an M&F in the late 80s with Gaspari on the cover as I was at a train station. Thought I could learn about lifting.
Probably how I ended up here.
-
This one I think. The detail on these guys from 1979 was motivational, not like the freaky shit covers of today.

Yes, it's been probably six or seven years since I've bought a magazine, I do look at the covers as I walk by and laugh at the gayness and absolute bull shit like "get shredded for summer in six weeks" such crap

The first mag I ever got was MD in 1977 with Dave Johns, Manny Perry, and Ron Teufel on the cover.

there's just something cool about these old vintage mags, I've bought a couple with Arnold on the cover on ebay
-
I can't remember the first one, but I can remember the first one I ever took seriously -
(http://musclememory.com/magCovers/mm2k/mm2k053.jpg).
It was in a stack of magazines my friend had, and I was interested in losing a bit of weight, so I started reading it. It struck me as the most honest as far as steroids, and real bodybuilding. I remember being taken by the writings of Poliquin and Duchaine specifically. Before that if I picked up a bodybuilding magazine in gym class, etc.... it was more just to read an article on a feat of strength, or the latest Arnold movie, or to stare at a fitness girl.
Still to this day, early Muscle Medias and IronMan (especially the little yellow ones) are my favorite bodybuilding magazines.
-
I can't remember but I'm certain Arnold was on the cover.
-
It was a Flex magazine with a black and white arnold and a neon yellow background. I think one of the old timers here was able to find a scan of the cover, one of those guys who writes in purple font.
-
flex magazine and it was the issue with nasser and lee training together

I dont remember, it was 1978 though, I was 12... I know it was a Muscle Builder & Power or Muscle & Fitness (same Mag that changed names).
It was the only one the store across the street carried.
Later on (a bit older) I would walk to the Methuen Mall, and buy MuscleMag's, I remember getting this one...

The first, the last and the only BB mag I ever bougth in my lifetime (at a german airport before a long flight):
I had just started working out and thought I could find some helpful tips in there regarding training and nutrition LMAO. When I figured that 2/3s of the pages were ads from some protein and creatine powders I was like wtf? :D

Musclemag 1990

Flex Magazine's around 1997 when I attended my first Olympia, which was in Long Beach, California.
-
Was Musclemag. Had Scott Wilson on the cover. I think it was early 80's.
-
1985, picked on up in a used book store Downtown Winnipeg, Canada I was 17...
It's still here, in my storage room with my Army mementos!!

I used to lift at the Golds, just up 213 on 28 in Salem. Man, I loved that gym.

The Muscle and Fitness that had the 1996 Olympia report.
I didn't buy any mags the first year i trained i thought i'd look like a dick buying one.
-
i bought flex in 2010 i think
80% of the mag is filled with advertisment
articles are mostly worthless
costed a fortune
not mentioning the shame buying such material

Each purchase is several lifetimes worth of shame.

What about swimsuit editions? ;D

What about swimsuit editions? ;D
Even with chicks on the cover, it's still a "muscle mag". Also, I happen to really like the look of fitness-chicks, but to the civilian population (and to 75% of getbiggers) that's the same as being a full-on homo.
Nope, even the "swimsuit edition" comes with a heathy heap of shame. Hell, when you buy the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, the old lady taking your money knows that you are probably not even gonna make it back to your car before you need to crack one off.
