This is a serious question. Is there anyone new coming up that has potential to be Mr O? Any gossip? Anything at all that getbiggers might give a shit about. Pro bodybuilding is on life support. What is out there that is going to keep this thing going?
I'm serious, I'm not trying to shit on Pro BB, I'm trying to generate some enthusiasm about it. Is there something out there that we should be talking about but w are missing?

That is the only thing that is coming up. Besides that, its just random youtube videos of guys training or discussing supplements.

But Dex and Branch can be interchangeable. Dex got 5th at mr o and branch got 6th. So either or may win it.
Yes, I think Tony Freeman got short changed at times. Not too sure why. Always had a solid physique.

Marius Dohne, this guy still alive? Saw him at an expo in Germany some years ago when there was much talk about his kidneys giving in, i swear i had never seen a guy more purple in his face, definetly had some health issues

Bodybuilding was better before...whats happend on the stage/gym was pretty cool and motivating!
As u grew older and your eyes saw other things...its just became...not so funny!
Keep em dreams alive, once u lose them its over...
Bodybuilding for me is 30-40 year old men acting like 20 yrs old kids! The drugs work like blinders...pretty much easy to follow the path while on them. When u quit, another world open up.

This is a very relevant and timely thread topic.
I hate to admit it, but I'm finding myself getting bored quickly now as a bodybuilding fan.
Jay was the last Olympia champ where I actually cared about him winning or not.
At this next Arnold Classic, I'm more personally interested in how Jose Raymond will do in the 212, then in the overall men's open field.
I like Evan Cetropani, but Jose is the kind of character I want to follow within pro BB.
Heath has a great physique, but I don't care if he wins or places last.
Nasser said it best at a seminar in 2000.

This is what occurs in every other sport and causes a lot of hype, fan debate and interest.

I sometimes want to go to Vegas just prior to the Olympia. Not for the schmoe-show but to visit the gym(s) where the contestants train prior to the event. I just want to see how tall they really are in person and if their claimed height matches their real height.
Other than that it would be nice to meet Dennis Wolf and shake his hand as I find his attitude somewhat refreshing in that he seems a humble and likable guy.
I also want to see just how sleepy Rhoden is in person, would like to meet Branch Warren too because along with being a business owner and gun enthusiast he might also be a great guy.
I live in fear that I am only 0.5 Heaths in diameter so I don't know if I can meet and greet Phil "The Living Portal" Heath. Nah. I just want to see what a super pig doper of a manlet really looks like in person and laugh at his matching purse and shoes.
Kai? Even a bigger piece of dung than Phil. Would wait until his fruit of the loon posing routine started then proceed to roll 72 grapefruit past him so that he thinks he's died and gone to Mucca. What a turdsnake.

Hmmm... I shook Arnold's hand at a book signing years ago. I shook Dave Draper's hand at a contest years ago. I shook Waller's hand at the original Gold's. Franco's too. Joe Gold was a great guy whom I met and shook hands with at his World Gym.
We're talking about shaking hands with those you've admired. Same is true of a great many other people, men and women, throughout the life of a normal individual.
Abnormal would've been something along the lines of meeting at a certain ice machine and shaking their wang via a reach-around whilst demonstrating any of the now (in)famous Bob Chick schmoetasktic stretching exercises. Or something like that. Gross.

LOL! But seriously, I think you'd be blown away at the deep separation and muscularity of seeing a top, contest ready pro, in person .
Yup, I can tell you that Wolf is a cool, humble dude and he's BIG, wide and taller then most pros.
I've met Branch a few times and can confirm he's a real class act and straight shooter.
I remember meeting/seeing Heath back in 2007 at the Colorado Pro.
He got beat by Kai that day, but it was obvious he was on his way up in the ranks.
Phil doesn't have a big , wide frame like Jay, Kai or Ronnie.
Like ol' Larry Scott he creates the "illusion" of it on stage by adding slabs of muscle to his delts, arms, etc
The visual impact of that provides greater shock and awe value when he's on the Olympia stage now.
Kai has all the physical tools to be a multi Mr Olympia.
I'd even give him a pass with his past behavior, IF he presented himself like a normal man NOW.
BUT he still goes out his way to wear those creepy masks and S&M outfits when he guest poses.
Kai's his own worst enemy when it comes to PR and risking the grapefruits rolling if he ever wins the O.
The only thing I know about Rhoden is that he used the leaning tower of Pisa as his posing guide.
well said, especially the part on bold, been saying this a while myself. And imagine if you had family at a show then Kai comes out in some gimp outfit??? My dad would be freaked the hell out.

Like me I doubt you care what Kai or any other pro does in their private life, off stage.
I remember being on leave from the USMC and competing in the Mr NH many years ago.
My mom and some relatives came out to see the show and cheer me on.
Overall, it came off as a pretty "wholesome" athletic event and I was proud to have my mom there.
If some guest poser had come out dressed like Kai, I would have been very embarrassed and uncomfortable for my mom.
Every sport has oddballs and douchebags, but they tend to get shunned and shamed if hey cross the line.
Ray Rice would be a good example of how the NFL tries to paint a wholesome image for the fans.
Yes, many of the NFL players are juiced up, and act like idiots in clubs , etc.
BUT, they try to keep the crazy stuff to a minimum ON the field , in public view

Guys like Ray Rice, Reggie White are most likely a thing of the past man. Manners and ethics as well for most it seems. Don't care, I still remain ultra polite in public, hold doors open for people and stuff... CAn be hard to believe based on some of my behavior here but I was not raised to do otherwise.
