 ;D  actually jcg didn't do much because he didn't want his legs to grow out of proportion... could still squat  500 lbs in his 70's...

John Grimek was doing squats in the 30's. He should have won a gold medal in the Olympics in Nazi Germany 1936 in Olympic lifting if it wasn't for a wacky law they had in place. The rule was if you lifted in a higher weight category at any time you couldn't go to a lower weight category. John Grimek competed as a light heavy and competed once as a heavy weight. At the Olympic he shows up as light heavy and they made him lift in the heavy weight class. He would have won the gold.

there's always some odd people who decide to train legs and go against the norm

Sometimes I think the oldtimers knew what they were doing with whole body routines. Train everything and take a day off.
