Title: Diet and various degree of ripped
Post by: Cleanest Natural on February 21, 2015, 06:45:52 AM
When it is all said and done, it is my opinion that everything boils down to ones ability to diet properly all the subcutaneous fat off. The are many more variables.. but the fat levels are crucial to being in true contest shape. Let us start a thread about getting shredded and dieting to get shredded. Everyone is invited to chimme in from their personal experience. I would also like to encourage stories about others and what they did to get ripped. Pictures please so we can illustrate better. A picture is worth a thousand words.

By the way, this is what I mean by being "ripped".

I guess it;s not really feasible to get THAT ripped without duretics. Otherwise I'm subscribing.

Sev, you and I have spoken about our tennis backgrounds.

Due to an overuse injury when I was 17, my right shoulder needed rest.  I am sort of OCD about things, so I took my recreational cycling to fairly excessive levels.  I had a sweet Eddy Merckx rig and off I would go like Forrest Gump.

While I never got as ripped as your picture(s) would indicate, I got scary ripped.

I was 6'1" tall, weighed a whopping 158, and looked like an anatomy chart.

I often think of what would have happened had I started taking lower body weight training very seriously during that time.  I don't think my calves would have grown (nothing has ever seemed to help), but I firmly believe that time would have been the best time to have begun.  And, I NEVER would have decided to "bulk", either a "clean" bulk or a "junk food" bulk.

Diet and Cardio here.  I'd say the cardio 6 days a week is the biggest difference maker.

I don't really have cheat meals or days etc..  Eat out a lot though so steak, sashimi, lobster are always in the mix albeit with minimal carbs.

I want to expound on theory (actually its more like scientific fact apparently) about why some people have a harder time losing body fat than others that I read in the article.

As I understand it you don't even actually ever "Lose body fat cells" you have acquired in your lifetime.

The body fat cells you already have acquired (depending on how fat you got in your life) merely shrink or expand depending on factors such as diet and exercise etc.

Therefore the suggestion being that if you were overweight for number of years or obese or just got very fat you will carry more body fat cells than someone who has been lean all their life and will have harder time staying lean etc.

I also read once you remove the body fat cells through lipo suction, they can never come back, but only new fat cells can be formed.

If this is the case aren't we all better of just getting lipo and saving ourselves years of pain?

Is the theory about the body fat cell thing correct?

I had a similar experience around 1998-1999. I took a break from tennis to try to be ome a top squash player. At the club, between hours of teaching I started doing mild cardio and teding magazines to pass the time. My diet was nonexistant at the time. After 7 weeks I realized I was ripped albeit small. I did not lift at all at the time.

Xfactor is a good example. He is able to stay very lean. I also believe increased cardio maies the difference from some point on.

Joon, I think the theory is bogus. Maybe subconsciously you are just looking at an excuse to eat and indulge. Lipo is pointless. Diet and do cardio. My frind Radu was 32kg overweight at some point and he managed to turn it all around. He theoretically had the fat gene all his life. I see no fat man nowadays and he is as lean offseason.

joon that's an excuse. Diet and cardio is the key for a fat man to lose fat.

you are so full of excuses you don't even search for people who have done the big fat loss Project succesfully, you only search for more excuses to not diet and excercise.

my problem is gaining muscle. I'm always very lean and I get little progress even if I train like a maniac, I feel like a small kung fu master who's put against Super heavy weight champions, I feel like I train my soul for few percentage of difference in my muscle maturity that will fade away when I suffer few weeks of flu, and I'm back to zero.

But I know it's due to lack of eating, my appetite and stomac size is that of a bird. I know that I have to eat smaller meals throughout the day, but I'm too lazy to apply my self. You and I are the same, minus I don't have a drug or alcohol problem.

I can literally eat everything and at most my weight will go up 5 lbs after a month, if I'm lucky. Then if I don't keep up with it I'll lose it very fast. It sucks.

Yeah. Last summer I was alone an entire day almost every day because I had to eat, because it takes me forever to eat because I feel like puking in between. Then I would go to the gym and everything I did during the day, which was eating, showed in training, I could feel a tiny progress everytime I went to the gym.

Then I met a 'special' girl and wasted 5 months of my life. Won't happend again.

Genetics would play an important role. Some guys could without them, others can't.

Problem is I drink, fuck girls, do coke, smoke weed, then next day im totally hungover and I have to eat shit and miss training sessions. Then repeat few days later.
When I was 18-27 I can just drink ever other day and nothing affected too much.
Now it takes me 3-4 days to recover. This is the problem.
Last night got mashed, today fucked, just eat and sleep and wank all day.

worst habbit is easiest kept.

I wouldn't brag a ton how you've been able to drink all your life without a hangover untill now, neither :D

I have a problem of doing nothing productive, but I don't use drugs or drink. I'm just a manic depressed and lazy. If someone called me to a party, I woudn't go, the idea stresses me and bores the hell outa me. Untill I go to that party.

You live the way you do to hide the frustration and mental pain, but in the process you destroy yourself in the long run

At the end of the day you're the only one who can help yourself, and you have a choice to do everything opposite each day you wake up. Starting from the bottom is a pain in the ass, but you stay there forever if you let yourself and then you're in more pain.

Chances are, we'll never make it... but what the hell, better than "searching a meaning of life" despite all the money, nice homes, family and friends. When you are hungry, you start to look at people like that as if they don't exist, with their plans, dreams and all that. You are the boss of your own life. You know what you are.

Around 2000-2500 calories on a long enough time line with exercise will get you ripped in single digits, eating whatever you want.  Adjust accordingly but you should not have to at all.  Just see it through.

If you are impatient, you can just take your ideal bodyweight, multiply by 10 and that is how many calories you then eat.  Then keep adjusting as you lose weight until you achieve the desired look.  This is the ultra low calorie approach and its not necessary but its for the impatient ones.

Either way its easy.  Fill the calories with whatever you want.  Single digits of your choosing will be yours in time.

10%bf is lower than people think. You could be in the 8% range if your legs are as lean.

Your muscles are poppin tho so they push aganst your skin, makes you look hard.

Diet and Cardio here.  I'd say the cardio 6 days a week is the biggest difference maker.

I don't really have cheat meals or days etc..  Eat out a lot though so steak, sashimi, lobster are always in the mix albeit with minimal carbs.

Dndwhatever seems to take every opportunity to post his pic and spout natural. Musclemania competitor if I remember correctly.
Don't get me wrong. Looks great but only time seems to post is when he has an opportunity to use his pic/ stats and fish for compliments.

Many people get in shape. Many show up on stage to compete in great shape. Yet, the look we all chase is seldomly achieved.

I am trying to get one of the guys I prep to get ripped. He has a good metabolism and he is just 25. Here he is after 6 months of bodybuilding (first cycle ever, forst time dieting and his first contest will be in August).. so he is 5 months out. I also believe that because he does not know what to expect and just goes with the flow happy go lucky works in one's favor.
