It seems they both got upset when Vince revealed that Zane was crying in his hotel room
after the 80 Olympia. Vince went to collect him from his hotel room to go on some gay post Olympia boat cruise with Joe Weider and the other contestants (the Steaming into Sydney cruise it was called) and Zane was crying like a wee lassie behind the hotel door.

Two things we can learn from my calling out thread. It is pointless confronting some anonymous jerks because no matter what you post as evidence they will attack something else.
Their object is to discredit me so that people will wonder if I ever tell the truth.
The other thing is it is virtually impossible to prove things on the internet. People can make up lies about you and how can you prove that those lies are false?
The strategy of nasty people is to repeat those lies until some people believe they are true. TK and Beefy don't play fair.
When known people have trouble proving where they lived then what hope is there for everyone else on this forum?

The 80 Olympia had some anomalies. First of all there was a deadline for entries. The promoter, top officials, and some of us in Sydney
knew Arnold was competing but the other competitors did not. That obviously wasn't fair to everyone. Paul Graham and Arnold were mates from 1968
when they lived in the same house or apartment in LA. Paul was the promoter in 1980.
Frank was the current 3 time Mr Olympia. He hurt himself by falling off a deckchair and cut a sensitive part. He lost weight because of it.
Frank didn't even place second in 1980. He placed behind Chris Dickerson which must have been a bitter pill to swallow.
Frank and Mike Mentzer 'dropped' their trophies back stage. However, no one has ever torn up a cheque for some obscure reason!
Frank and Mike were not on the harbour cruise after the contest. They missed a good time but obviously Frank had nothing to celebrate. Looking
back that contest was the end for Mike Mentzer and the end of winning the Olympia for Frank.

Well, I posted on Ironage and here at Getbig that Arnold messed with a babysitter at my place during a get-together in his honour. Arnold came to
my gym in 1974 and put on a seminar and posing display. After he finished he went to Tony's Gym to pose. Then Paul Graham, Arnold, Robert Nailon,
Tony Benn, and various guests came to our apartment for dinner and a chance to meet Arnold.
Who benefits from denying any such get-together occurred? If I didn't live in that apartment and was making it up then obviously Arnold couldn't have
been there and so the story would be a fabrication. Nice try. Trouble is there were too many people there. John Medlin, Graham Martin, another baby sitter,
and so on. I never said Arnold raped anyone and the girl was over the age of consent in Australia.
By the way, if Teutonic is 55 years younger than me then he is only 17. What a bullshitter. He is much older.
If Teutonic is so concerned about Arnold then he should go to Melbourne and ask Arnold about this story. I doubt
Arnold will be available to people. He usually charges money to see him, take a photo, etc. Last year he charged $1000 for a platinum
deal where one listened to Arnold tell people how to be successful. Afterwards you would shake hands and have a photo taken with him.

These stories are fact to me and everyone else who was involved. Arnold did his own thing in those days because he was not yet an international celebrity. He didn't care and just had fun. Good for him.

Hey vince, when u measured Arnold's height in his prime was he a legit 6 ft plus? I know many on here don't believe and even some say 5'11 which is absurd
Also i don't know why it's so hard to believe that vince actually met and hung out with arnold back then, wasn't like he was famous or anything, like ronnie who u could basically see here and there at the gym but no biggie unless he became a big time movie star and got famous that's different

I fail to see why Vince gets so much shit around here. He's an old school competitor that had an admirable build back in the day. He has a wealth of knowledge and a lot of stories to tell about old school bodybuilding and has known a lot of people that have been involved in the sport over the years. Getbig is better off having him around.

It is odd that I am the only known person to have measured Arnold's height. 6 1 1/2 inches at night in Mits Gym, Hawaii way back in the beginning of 1969. Mits had a scale with a height gauge on it.
There were several guys there who got measured. Every single one of them were a half inch shorter than they claimed they were. Arnold could have been 6-2 first thing in the morning as the
spine compresses a bit during the day. I measured his arms flexed at 21 1/2 inches in October 1968.
I didn't hang out with Arnold. I did my own thing but he was surrounded by a group of people when he was at Venice or Santa Monica Beaches. I was training at the same time as Arnold in Golds Gym
that October. Dave Draper trained in the morning. He remembered my name when we picked him up at the airport in Hawaii in January 69. Arnold didn't. I bet he remembers my laugh! :)

When one makes a claim, the onus is on them to provide proof, not others to disprove.

I never spoke to John Fair or gave him permission to use my photos. He quotes me re the judging at the
1980 Olympia and makes a false statement about what I said.
I was standing in the Opera House before the judging started that day and was chatting to Peter McCarthy and Frank Burwash.
Someone came up to Peter and told him the judges meeting had already started. Peter swore and ran to the meeting. He was
upset that he wasn't notified about the start of the meeting. Later we found out that because he had missed most of the meeting
he couldn't judge except as an alternate judge in case another judge was removed. Peter, who had won Mr Australia more than
once and other top contests in Australia was replaced by young Brendan Ryan who had won a couple of junior contests. When
Brendan visited LA he stayed at Arnold's place according to my mate Nailon. Brendan placed Arnold first in every round and the
posedown. He separated the bodybuilders so his score carried more weight than most. McCarthy voted for Dickerson in each
round and if you include his scores and omit Ryan's you end up with a much closer contest. I don't know if the outcome would
be any different because Arnold looked bigger than Chris on stage and during the posedown. So Arnold would have won the posedown
and earned enough points to overcome any deficit during the judging.
I had stories published in a few magazines. I wrote a story about the judging but Peary Rader wouldn't publish it. No publisher would.
I eventually gave the article to Mike Mentzer in 1991 when I spoke with him at Golds Venice. I was staying with Ray Mentzer in
Torrance. Ray and Kathy and their daughter Dagnie stayed at my place for months when he lived in Sydney. I introduced Ray to
Pam who he married but they eventually divorced. She was there in 1991.
Recently I spoke with Randy Roach who is writing another book about bodybuilding and this time the 1980 Mr Olympia. Should be
interesting.
Peter McCarthy is standing behind Mike so was at the judges meeting. He should have been the judge from Australia.

We had him at our gym in 1974 to pose and give a seminar. Cost us $500 but we lost money because Paul Graham gave us only a couple days notice so we couldn't advertise it.
I interviewed Arnold before he posed. I knew he drove a BMW and had an expensive home near or on the beach. I got him to reveal a few things the audience enjoyed hearing.
When he was warming up to pose we had a couple of our junior bodybuilders pose both as a contrast and to fill the time Arnold needed to get a pump. The guy was huge.
After posing he came out and showed us exercises. He demonstrated how he did curls and how Sergio cheated. Tell the truth his style didn't look much different! Clearly, Arnold
had a good sense of humour and knew how to entertain everyone. He even stood on a wooden block to do rows. We called that Arnold's block afterwards.
Arnold met up with us after he posed at Tony's Gym. Nailon took one of Arnold's most famous shots that night. Someone took a flash photo from a different angle and Robert
got a winner in that shot. Arnold and his group came over to our top floor apartment after that. He was impressed when he stood on the balcony overlooking Manly Beach from
15 floors up. I recall that he said, "Very nice." He sat on a chair in our lounge room and we all had T-bone steaks. I don't know how Roz had so many to cook for the guests.
In the meantime, several of the guests sat around Arnold in chairs or on the floor. Robert Nailon was there. So was John Medlin. Graham Martin from our gym was another.
I think Tony Benn was there as well. I asked Arnold how he pronounced his last name. Schwarzen - eggar not neggar he insisted in his strong accent. I asked him about Sergio
Oliva. He confessed that had he been Sergio he would have won the times they competed. That was a surprise to hear from the Oak. When I asked about Sergio at first
Arnold said he was a pig. Same with Robby Robinson, Chris Dickerson, Bill Grant and a few more black bodybuilders. We all knew Arnold was racist because this shocked us.
I told him he was racially prejudiced. He denied any such thing and quipped that he just didn't like any of doze guys! We talked about who should have won various Olympias
and he said whoever lost always claimed the contests were fixed. Franco and Sergio and Mike and everyone else who came second said that. I immediately questioned him about the
time Frank Zane beat him in a contest in Miami in 1968. "That contest was fixed!" insisted Arnold. I told Arnold he didn't look like a movie star so he wasn't going to be as
famous as Steve Reeves was when he played Hercules. Arnold told me he liked when people said that because it made him try harder!
Shortly afterwards Arnold got up and we assumed he went to the bathroom. He seemed to be gone a long time while we waited.
Then the parents of one of our babysitters asked me if I had seen their daughter. Nope. Nailon, 'The Brain' as he is called, jumped
up and headed down the corridor of our apartment. He returned moments later with a shocking story.......

I never spoke to John Fair or gave him permission to use my photos. He quotes me re the judging at the
1980 Olympia and makes a false statement about what I said.
I was standing in the Opera House before the judging started that day and was chatting to Peter McCarthy and Frank Burwash.
Someone came up to Peter and told him the judges meeting had already started. Peter swore and ran to the meeting. He was
upset that he wasn't notified about the start of the meeting. Later we found out that because he had missed most of the meeting
he couldn't judge except as an alternate judge in case another judge was removed. Peter, who had won Mr Australia more than
once and other top contests in Australia was replaced by young Brendan Ryan who had won a couple of junior contests. When
Brendan visited LA he stayed at Arnold's place according to my mate Nailon. Brendan placed Arnold first in every round and the
posedown. He separated the bodybuilders so his score carried more weight than most. McCarthy voted for Dickerson in each
round and if you include his scores and omit Ryan's you end up with a much closer contest. I don't know if the outcome would
be any different because Arnold looked bigger than Chris on stage and during the posedown. So Arnold would have won the posedown
and earned enough points to overcome any deficit during the judging.
I had stories published in a few magazines. I wrote a story about the judging but Peary Rader wouldn't publish it. No publisher would.
I eventually gave the article to Mike Mentzer in 1991 when I spoke with him at Golds Venice. I was staying with Ray Mentzer in
Torrance. Ray and Kathy and their daughter Dagnie stayed at my place for months when he lived in Sydney. I introduced Ray to
Pam who he married but they eventually divorced. She was there in 1991.
Recently I spoke with Randy Roach who is writing another book about bodybuilding and this time the 1980 Mr Olympia. Should be
interesting.
