If I remember he would foul Jordan a lot, and those were hard fouls too.

very sad. Mason was my favorite of those 90s Knicks. I used to hate Starks, little whiny. But Mason was a badass.
-
damn, two Former NBA players bite the dust in 10 days.....Jerome Kersey and Mase.....50 and 48....just two years apart......I hope Charles Barkley is not next anytime soon.. :'(

You often see these athletes blow up after they retire. They need to learn how or take care of themselves after they retire. sad. R.I.P.

always remember a comedian was ripping him in a nightclub for being so ugly. the comedian didn't realize he was in the club. guy looked pretty scared when they put the spotlight on mason sitting in the back of the club. the reason he was ripping was because a couple of knicks were in the front row.

Mason should have gone Knick on him.

Very sad, guy was a great player.
Always looked like the kind of guy whose weight was gonna blow up in retirement as soon as he wasn't exercising like a pro athlete anymore.

I Liked his Play
Some kind Strange but extremly entertaining
Especially if he handled the ball
Remember the game Pat Riley went nuts when mase didn t Hit the head playing againts the bulls trap d in 1992/93 and instead was dribbling like pointguard
Led the nba twice in Minutes per game played and was One of the heaviest muscled guys at the Same time
Imagine what you have to do to do so?
-
PIP. Mase was a badass, he was a true Riley type of player.
-
I like mase because he embodied the "i want to do things I'm not built for, I want it bad" attitude.
He was a badass on defense and rebounding and all-around knocking people around. He always wanted to be a scorer but never had the grace and coordination - just wasn't built for that. And it's what he wanted so badly.
-
Great ball handler for a big fella. Sometimes got too cute dribbling the ball up court after a rebound, which would drive Pat Riley nuts. Great hard nosed player that could really intimidate.
-
go ahead and try to shoot with Mason, Oakley, Grandmama or Ewing in your face..lol ;D -- too bad they werent all on the floor at the same time

Larry Johnson couldn't defend worth a shit. I realize he had all those back problems which caused him to play more from the perimeter. But he doesn't deserve his name alongside Mason, Oakley and Ewing as a defender.

Shaq said playing the Knicks back in the day was an "Initiation" into the NBA, he said you had to be tough and not let them beat you down.
-
He always seemed like he had slight downs.
