watch those lockouts! :-X

The result of her having done loads of stretching "exercises," that stretched the length of her ligaments and tendons, creating a looseness in them, that allowed her knees to easily hyper-extend.

Bingo. I would be willing to be bet all of her joints are subluxated.

I see tons of idiots locking their kneecaps on those presses. Just asking for trouble. Thing is, most of the time they think they're safe because they use very light poundages. That vid was pretty disturbing BTW. Not "TBombz Bunny Suit" disturbing but nonetheless it delivered a decent of amount of "cringe".

squats are bad for your knees. that's why I do leg presses and hack squats instead. so much safer.

Squats are only bad for your knees if you are doing them incorrectly. ATG Squats are fine. If you are doing half assed, half squats, where all the pressure of the lift, starts and stops at the knees, then, yeah your knees are going to hurt, and suffer.

yeah I know I was kidding.

if that same exact weight was on a bar that she had to get under and walk out with that same guy spotting her, this never would have happened. she would have realized the second she got under the bar that it was too much weight and she would have reracked it.
but the machine gave her a false sense of security because it was using her back and knees as leverage against the weight. Therefore she mistakenly believed that she could handle that weight.
that's why I've always said free weights are SAFER than machines. I don't care what the infomercials tell you.

So much bad squatting out there. After 30 years of hurting myself, I finally know the point as which my squat depth causes APT and stay above that. ATG squats almost always injured me, unfortunately.
My APT point is actually at a decent height, I was just always getting cute.
-
To be fair, some days just aren't your day. Lots of folks break themselves on the good ole fashioned squat too -

Squatting doesn't cause APT. You have APT, and you shouldn't have been squatting at all. If you have a preexisting condition that can be aggravated by exercise, then you should deal with the condition, before you start exercising.

Speed week than max effart week boardpresses ohhh lawwd

I's not the fault of Squats that injuries happen. The examples you cite, are competition power lifters. When you take a perfectly good exercise, such as the good ole ATG Squat, and turn it into a weight lifting competition, then of course you'll get injuries, as in any sport.
For general strength training, and bodybuilding, squats are excellent. Getting up to within 20% +/- of your body weight, will facilitate natural GH release, and incremental increases of weight on each training session, will work wonders with 20 rep ATG squats. With plenty of fat and protein right after exercise.

Sigh. Yes, I am aware of that. I have APT, and I know at what point my hips start to come forward during any squatting motion and I restrict my squat to above that depth.
I have been "dealing with my condition" since a trainer helped me discover it 3 years ago with mobility execrices, hip-hinge motion and direct glute (no homo) work.

direct glute work.

Is that machine pushing against the feet automatically (eg. automated hydraulic pressure) in a pre-programmed way? Or is it just simple weight resistance?
-

I have never had injuries from squatting but did from hacks and leg presses.

She did both in the video.
-
She made the mistake of locking her knees AND having a personal trainer who's last job was delivering pizza.

everytime I stop deadlifting or squatting for long periods of time I get knee pains and back stiffness. I also feel less motivated to do anything.
When I deadlift and squat regularly I always feel fine, I have no pain, I feel energetic and just loving life in general.

Hacks kill my knees too, fucko.

Oh, I guess I would have to bend back her arms then.

I don't get it. That machine doesn't even seem to have any incline. How much weight do you think she was pressing?
-
Her leg recoiled into a fruit roll up.
Derek Rose approved.

You're not supposed to lock out your legs on the leg press. I guess nobody told this woman this vital piece information.

Why would they tell her? That would ruin the opportunity to have this sweet video. Her legs died for us bitches.

Many women can hyper extend their arms and legs. She locked out pass the straight finish lock that men are in general are only capable of doing.

Yes, squatting is essential to maximize natural GH release. Without that GH plateaus are sure to ensue

Yeah, makes sense. Thanks for explaining.
