i used to fuck a female cop, who used to drive drunk all the time, she said everyone in her department did the same thing, she said she would also speed all the way home in her patrol car for her lunch break to get a home cooked meal

Damn you!

Black officer probably corrupt and on the take.
Good decision.

A murder-suicide would be a perfect end to this little dilemma......

I have no problem with law abiding officers.
But its pretty shitty when officers break the law and inconvenience everyone. For example, I am driving in manhattan and they double park to go into Dunkin Donuts, causing more traffic than already is. Naturally, they do not get a ticket. Its shitty things like this that make people dislike cops. Why should they be above the law? If I double parked, I would get a parking ticket.
I knew a cop (a friend of a friend). Would sometimes go get lunch with him. He is blowing stop signs, red lights, etc. He gets pulled over all the time, flashes his badge, and they let him go. One day he is going to blow a red light and hit a child. There is absolutely no reason that he should be getting away with this stuff.

The black cop fucked up big time
Who did he think he was?? Robocop??? He's lucky he wasn't fired

The inevitable abuse of power is the inherent flaw of all systems.

jeesus christ you are a broken record.
must suck for you to imagine you're a victim 24/7

The white cop should NOT have slammed his car door into the black cop as he opened it.
Try doing that to any cop. The cop will slam you down on the ground in protective, self-defense.
The white cop was the instigator and the aggressor here.

Let's hope she is in the minority of cops behaving like that.
hope one of the more decent cops in her station would do
The right thing.

The inevitable abuse of power is the inherent flaw of all systems.
It really depends on the system. Ive had many supervisors who were high up on the ladder and were very warm and supportive. They used their "power" in a way that promoted their workers and the organizations. It really all depends how you use that power when you're in a position of authority. I dont work in the corporate/business world, so the abuse of power is less so in my profession, though Im sure it still exists on some level. Its also a matter of a degree, as well.
The other difference is that the abuse of a power by a cop can lead to death (cop blows a red light and hits a kid, or cop abuses their power and beats someone to death). This would rarely happen in other organizations that may involve more emotional abuse of workers.
Also, in many organizations, the ones who are abusing the power are higher ups (managers, CEO's, etc). Its not the little minion workers. However, with cops, many of them abuse power, even the ones on the low end of the totem pole. Hell, the cop I described was only a cop for one year. But he had that badge! You will hardly see a business man who has been working for 1 year abuse power in a major corporation. He'd be laughed at and fired.

Internal Affairs.
That black officer is now a hero to all the beat cops.

not surprised in s.florida. Glad I left that shithole dade county.
dude rag dolled his ass to the ground after he has that "damn this dude strong" moment. lol
should have hammer fists his bitch ass. You got these guys that literally throw that shit in your face that they are the law even when they are in the wrong.
I like how the reporter mentioned things got "sketchy" ....bitch nothing was sketchy ...had it not been for the guy installing a go pro set up in his ride he'd be fired period point blank.
S.Florida is a fucking zoo. 3rd world.

Guys lets be real here. Suspended with pay really means you get a paid vacation...Any cop would take that in a heartbeat...

Blacks are ALWAYS the instigator regardless.
The Black one was instigating AND the aggressor by being there on the scene.

I hear cops in the upper east coast are still like that... not so much around here. I drive an unmarked take home car with lights and siren and I go the speed limit, use my turn signals and wait my turn to merge. I try to set the example for others and as you say, it looks bad when a cop is breaking the laws they enforce without a lawful reason to do it.
-

Lets be real real.. a suspension is a black mark on your record. I don't know of any cop who is happy about a suspension unless the alternative was losing their job.

We don't have access to what was said during the stop but in my opinion, the Lieutenant was the greater wrong in this matter. Both share some culpability but an on duty officer in uniform in a marked unit trumps a plainclothes officer (rank irrelevant) in a POV every time. I don't get stopped much because I obey the traffic laws but if I did, I would be respectful and let the officer run the show.

Exactly. The white officer should have calmly identified himself, and then asked if he could reach into his pocket and retrieve his badge. No reason for the African American officer to know who he was, and certainly no excuse for the white officer to charge him in an aggressive manner.
The white cop should NOT have slammed his car door into the black cop as he opened it.

Totally agree.
The black cop could've been hit in the knee with the door. That would hurt pretty bad.
-
I've watched that video numerous times I still don't see where the man threw open the door ;D
-
My take on why the patrol officer was suspended ( former NYPD cop) he was using unauthorized equipment( the go pro.) his department does not have dash cams..this was a personal go pro recording device and him leaking the footage violated dept policy... Now the off-duty cop was wrong for slamming the door and I would have dropped him also and that's probably why he was reassigned from his cushy internal affairs job
-

you are absolutely right. The man opened the door.. threw is of course the narrators choice of words to add drama to the video because reporting just ain't enough these days, you need to spin opinions if you want ratings.
However, probably unwise to get out of your car during a verbal argument with an officer unless they ask you to do so..

I would take issue if the suspension was due to having a go pro unless policy specifically prohibits an officer from doing so. Prior to cameras being provided for officers it was common for them to purchase them on their own just for these situations where it would be a he said she said type thing. I didn't read where the officer leaked it. Maybe he did but it could have been he turned it over for the investigation and the department released it.
He probably and I'm just guessing, had enough information to be reasonably sure the guy was in fact an off duty officer and didn't make attempts to ratchet the level of confrontation down and chose to go the opposite direction. Wouldn't be the first time 2 egos got in the way of a reasonable outcome.
excerpts from the tape;
Lt. David Ramras: “Do you know who the *expletive* I am?”
Officer Marcel Jackson: “No, I don’t.”
Lt. Ramras: “I showed you ID.”
If in fact he did show ID the force was over the top when the Lt gets out of the car.

And what's with the 'do you know who the fuck I am' bit.
Shoving the car door into the patrol man.
White bloke clearly a king Shit cop.
That's how he speaks & treats another cop.
Jeez what hope is there for the Public.
With twats like him with a badge.
Defend him all you like.
As you said he was off duty.

I didn't think I was defending him. They both used bad judgement. You happen to be wrong about "shoving the car door" but it's not that big of a point to argue about. As a Lieutenant I hold him to a higher standard and my hope is that he is reassigned while the investigation is on going and will look at possible demotion and or suspension. People like that in a supervisory position concerns me.

This is a fair assessment. Cooler heads should have prevailed. Both of the officers used poor judgement. This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with abuse of authority.

Agreed.

Emile Hirsch (white) chokes a studio executive in Sundance (January 2015) and a couple of months later books a big movie. Isaiah Washington (black) uses a derogatory word to describe a gay person (and yes it was a despicable thing to do), and gets blackballed and fired. Go figure...

The person who fired Washington was black and a strong supporter of LGBT rights. The slur was directed at a co-worker who was gay. Washingston also threatened and put his hands on a co-worker.
-
Choke vs threat + slur...which is worse. As I mentioned in my post what Washington said was despicable, but come on...

He created a hostile workplace. His continued presence would have directly endangered his co-workers and caused production problems. Co-workers would have grounds to sue the production company and Disney the parent company of ABC television.
-
...and he didn't get significant roles for some time. Emile choked a woman and got a gig less than 2 months later. Liberals and their fight to end "war against women" are a joke.

As usual when you answer a msg,
You only answer part of & ignore the bits you either can't or won't answer.
This has happened on more than one occasion when I have replied to you.
You maybe one of the decent cops.
The fact that you dodge difficult questions & fail at every opportunity to remotely
Consider that cops are / could be scumbags yet you easily see scumbags everywhere
In the public, just about sums up what is wrong with the police.
Take the rose tinted glasses off.

If he did show ID. ------------Yes, if he did

Jeez what hope is there for the Public. ---------------The fact while unfortunate, these are rare
Defend him all you like.-------------------------What??

You aren't defending the behavior of these two gentleman. What you said makes a lot of sense. If the world worked like it does in the movies. The LT would be busted down to patrol cop and paired up with the black cop. Overtime they would learn to respect each other as they patrolled the streets as the interracial crime fighting duo, Salt and Pepper.
