Looks like a scene out of "50 Shades".

I have to admit, if I had extra space, I'd buy one and just leave it off to the side for memories. Our high school had one exactly like this in brown, and a few other Universal leg extension/curl machines in red sparkle vinyl -
(http://www.purplewaveauction.com/a/2009/20090722midwest/2543.JPG) .
I still remember agruements about who was stronger, guys using less on the top pedal leg press, or guys using more weight on the bottom.

I was going to say they were a staple in many high schools
-
Good looking machine to film a porno on
-
in 1979, I would use one after school MON - FRI before practice.
I was in 8th grade on the hockey team, so we had a rink in our high school which was across the street from our Jr. High.
It was pretty cool, thats all they had (My home gym at the time had more than the HS).
When I got to HS a year later, the Universal was gone, but we had full (though small) weight room...
That machine came in handy at the time...

My gym has some late 60's Nautilus equipment... a leg extension, a leg curl, lat pulldown and a pullover machine. They are museum pieces, but people still use them.

Love that old Nautilus pullover machine.

The pic of Weider&Platz, WTF, with the cat???
Whenever you see "gym" in a hotel, that's pretty much what you get. Not even worth using really, sucks for everything.

Wow. We had the same damn arguments. Obviously none of us was a budding physicist and could calculate levers.

Mine to, also had one at the JYC in NE Philly the first place I ever trained.

Bump this!!!!
-
Used the real old school Universal pictured in high school. I remember it was a big deal if you could bench and leg press the entire stack . The shoulder press stack was the one that defeated everyone.

Love that old Nautilus pullover machine.
There is nothing as good for lats! By far the best exercise for back thickness/width... I used one for the first decade of training and I am certain that's what built my back

the shoulder press was only 220 lbs on my college universal machine, not enough for any self respecting getbigger..... ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
