Democrat: Republicans putting Lynch at 'back of the bus'

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The second-ranking Senate Democrat on Wednesday accused Republicans of putting the president's attorney general nominee "in the back of the bus" by delaying her confirmation.
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois made the comment on the Senate floor as he criticized the GOP over its handling of Loretta Lynch's nomination. She would become the nation's first black female attorney general, replacing Eric Holder, the first African-American in the job.
Lynch was nominated last fall and Democrats are growing increasingly agitated over the holdup in confirming her, although they were in control of the Senate for some of that time.
"Loretta Lynch, the first African-American woman nominated to be attorney general, is asked to sit in the back of the bus when it comes to the Senate calendar," Durbin said. "That is unfair. It's unjust. It is beneath the decorum and dignity of the United States Senate."

Top Republican aides privately fumed but held their fire. But Scott, the first Southern African-American Republican elected to the Senate since Reconstruction, did not mince words in an interview, calling Durbin’s comments “factually and patently false. Period.”
“It is helpful to have a long memory and to remember that Durbin voted against Condoleezza Rice during the 40th anniversary of the March [on Selma]. So I think, in context, it’s just offensive that we have folks who are willing to race bait on such an important issue as human trafficking,” Scott said. “Sometimes people use race as an issue that is hopefully going to motivate folks for their fight. But what it does, is it infuriates people.”

They don't have the balls to fight it, to have the hearing and reject... they're just enjoying the mud that has been prideful since 2010... it's wholly irresponsible to take this long.
have the hearing, and if she's a piece of shit liberal, then reject her, and make a big spectacle of it. But this "let's just do nothing" where she can effectively DO the job and enact all this liberal holder-like bullshit...and congress can hate on her, but they don't have to vote ON RECORD for/against her... it's a bitch move that lets them throw stones while moving from glass house to glass house.
