White House to Cheney: We’re ‘More than Happy’ to Compare Our Econ Record with Bush
The Obama administration would be more than happy to compare its economic record with that of the Bush administrations, according to White House senior advisor David Simas.
In an interview with CNN’s New Day, Simas was asked to respond to former Vice President Dick Cheney‘s comments in Playboy suggesting President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder “play the race card” and that the previous administration’s economic record is being dismantled by the current group’s policies.
“We’re more than happy to compare the record of this administration over the past six years that inherited the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and is in the fifth year of record job creation, which is the fastest pace in this country’s history,” Simas told CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota. “We’ve taken historic deficits and reduced them by two-thirds and we’re gradually bringing to an end to two wars that the previous administration got into.”
Simas challenged Cheney to have an actual debate on the “merits” of policy. “This is a great debate between two contrasting visions,” he added.

Going to be a tough debate....this isn't like to generally like minded folks debating. Obama thinks we need to tax and spend and redistribute wealth because whitey and the West are horrible....America sucks and needs to be put in its place and immigrants and other societal suck offs are more important then the American tax payer. You can't debate somebody who thinks flipping burgers when u used to be an office worker is job creation and employment or stop counting people who have given up looking for a job. Plus Obama isn;t going to be willing to really look at why the housing market collapsed or really take a poke at wall street..where would he vacation or golf if not for these wealthy people?

The republicans don't think about taxes. They want to abolish taxes but be in a perpetual war. Where will those funds come from to support a war?

yep, except all he did was make a portion of the Bush Tax cuts permanent and cut government spending
so you're right it would be a tough debate since Cheney (and people like him) don't actually occupy consensus reality
to that burger flipping job, the Repubs would much rather have more of those (and with no minimum wage) than actually do something to help create solid middle class jobs or support education for even better jobs

simple
the would prefer to cut spending on anything that helps anyone in the lower or middle class (shrinking every day) and redistribute those funds to the military industrial complex
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are estimated to have cost the American Tax Payer between 4 and 6 trillion dollars

You know the jobs that lower middle class people do....factory work, oil and coal miners, large combine agriculture work etc etc etc. All shit that libs try to ban. They either go after them via the EPA or use the unions to shut down factories that won't play ball. They allow the UAW and other to strangle industry. You people can't have it both ways. The libs have gutted the middle class in places like eastern kentucky. You people are the problem.
You know who works in the miliary industrial complex......blue collar workers. Companies like Ford and GM and Unistar, Osh Kosh, General Dynamics employ thousands and thousands of people. Boeing etc etc....plus all the vendors....small busniness owners. I think you think its all separate

there's no debating bush was a disaster for the economy

I'm sure you actually, truly believe that "libs" want to "ban" those jobs
any kind of regulation on an industry = "banning jobs"
right?

They have more or less banned coal mining and gutted parts of Pennsylvania and much of Kentucky through EPA regulation. Thats one example...another would be restrictive EPA guidlines in California. Yeah so destroying a major industry in a very poor state thats forced thousands to go on gov assistance can be layed at the feet of the Dems. People in that state...with barely a highschool diploma could make near 100k a year working in the mines. You go from poor people without hope to a middle class working to send their kids to UK and Lousiville. I was stationed in KY so I know. I found it very interesting what the Gov was doing to these people. But its ok...their white.
-
I'll throw u a bone and say libs...not Dems. The lib fringe of the dem party has become more main stream. One of the unintended consquences of the tea party movement has been to gut blue dog or reagan dems from congress. There were plenty of dems who where pro coal..but they go up against lib dems and coastal money and get smoked.

They've both borrowed and spent trillions of dollars. What other "economic record" do presidents and federal governments have to compare?
Obama's debt is piling up faster even after he "ended" the Bush wars, and even in a zero-interest rate environment.
Clinton, Bush, and Obama did not cause nor create dot com booms, real estate booms, nor oil booms. Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Amazon, Google etc were not built by governments or presidents.
They did not and have not created private sector jobs, nor have they increased or even decreased stock markets, created inflation / deflation to any significant degree, or affected fuel prices themselves.
Most of you are completely clueless about this stuff and shouldn't be talking about it.
HTH.
Guy is clueless, doesn't believe this, and is only saying it because Valerie wrote it down:

lol....and even to this day "it's Bush's fault". Obama is just still having a hard time from what Bush created...lmao.

Bush creations like Solyndra? 25 million more people on food stamps since 2009? Coal and offshore drilling bans? Obamacare? Dodd Frank?

2001 to 2008 = bush's fault. Yes, that includes 911 because he went on fucking vacation instead of reading aug 6 memoes. And that includes the wall street collapse 2007/2008 $ blues.
2009 to present = all obama's fault. if you take ONE vacation day as president, you own everything. Obama owns the iraq mess now. Obama owns GITMO and afghanistan and syria. Even if bush left him with 2 wars on his plate, he's chosen to execute them as he sees fit.
All this crybaby shit about "clinton's fault 911" is stupid. Bush sat in office for 9 months, golfed away 3 of those months, and acted all shocked when we weren't prepared for an attack they had plenty of details on, 6 weeks ahead of time. Anyone blaming that on clinton, retired for 9 months at that point, is a dumb shit apologist. SAME with obama... he inherited a bad economy, but he sure as shit took long enough to stablilize it, and the growing poverty is all on his hands.
THe minute a president takes ONE vacation day or allows legislation created by the previous prez to go unchecked - guess what, you own it, mr president.
