Most pop songs use only three chords. The same three chords as hundreds of hits. What's the point? Music is math and there are only so many different combinations you can do. Does Trainor sound like Motown? Yes. Her father played the piano and told her to write songs for every genre when she was learning. She apparently likes the Motown sound. No harm and no foul.

Who pays money...white teen girls 12-19. That is the sole demographic songs/artists/record labels are selling to.

If its a female artist its all songs about female empowerment. If its a male artist, the lyrics are all about clubs/dancing/girls asses. This shit sells to that age group. That age group fills concert halls. Since im in my thirties, i am out of touch with what male teens are listening to, but to be honest i highly doubt music is even on their radar these days. Music is for dumb girls. Teen males are more likely just into some EDM possibly and sports, girls, porn, drugs. If any dads of teen males are here let me know if im correct. Music was huge when i was a kid in the 80s and 90s

Music is not made for adults anymore.
