Yeah, he was a phoney but most of the music industry is. Back then there was Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Technotronic was a White Belgian techno band famous for pump up the jam and it always had some black woman singing in their videos. C+C music factory had some big fat lady singing on the records but in the videos it was some skinny girl. The music industry is full of fake images even now... They're just better at hiding it.

And it happened in an era where news traveled via television and paper, no Internet or social media. It's strange because today people get exposed, they weather the storm and it's back to business (I'm thinking Rick Ross as a former prison guard).

Did he ever release a second album after Ice to the extreme?

He went commercial to quickly and it killed him or his love for music.

Watch his live performance videos now and it looks like a boy band with all the dancing.
