Big James Roberts. First pro bb i met in 1996 and who made me start hitting weights. He started bb at the age of 35 and placed 3:rd at Masters O in the late 90:ies.
He had this funny thing going when he spoke. In gothernburg who is the second biggest city in sweden we have a quite heavy accent. He had that going combined with speaking like a negro from the US. It's hard to find any pics who does him justice on the net.
He stopped bb very close after his third place. His son was killed in a shoot out after a heroin deal gone bad. His son was a heavy opiate addict. This complety destryed the man... To bad cause he was a freak in his own right!
One set for him was hitting heavy weight until failure at 6 reps. Then drop to a lower weight a directly do 20 reps.

Similar story here. If I were a few years younger I'd go play in the NFL and be a fucking pro bowler.

Neither am I. I was a small college all-american back in the day and am the best player on my flag football team now.
Being pretty good compared to normal people means you could easily be a pro if you were a few years younger

Ok, this guy above ^^ just won the internet today. That's fukking impressive.

No one has beaten Albert Beckles record for most My Olympia comps yet.
Beckles’ record-setting 13 forays into the IFBB Mr. Olympia have yielded six placings among the top five, including coming second to Lee Haney in 1985.

I think he pulled up stakes a few months ago. IIRC he was called out on the Chems board for openly advertising.
Fucking sick build, but lots of gear.

How about Ronnie and Dexter?

How about Ronnie and Dexter?
Ronnie competed in 1994, then from 1996 through to 2007. Maybe 1992, but I can't recall. I think...never mind...www.musclememory. com is your friend. ;D
Dexter for sure had over 13 entries in the Mr. Olympia. He competed from 1999 through to 2018, with the only exception being in 2005...and he actually qualified in 2005, but didn't compete for some reason. That was the year that Gunter Schlierkamp managed to slide into 4th place. In hindsight, Gunter retired from bodybuilding somewhat young - age 36 - and likely able to live a better life now as a result, without having to still tax his body. Gunter will be 49 in January.
