Something I have noticed. If you train many sets, the body will get used to many sets and long workouts and provide energy for it, it will take carbs and water and infuse your muscles with it, and also spill over some to cover the energy expenditure. You will look big with muscle mass. Say 1h and 50min. You only look ripped after the workout because you have dried out some and used excess carbs.
But then if you train less sets, less than half, your body use the carbs different and you don't spill over even though you eat almost as much and you lose some water weight and you are stronger ( more reps per sets) because you don't have to do so many sets. Say 30min on average. Then you look much more consistent.
