where are all the threads of outrage
at these officers giving their lives to protect and serve ???

UK has had 12 since 2005 of which 5 were shot or stabbed

There will never be outrage - police has been branded as criminal, racist, etc. and declared public enemy number one.
Most people hate the police due to eternal adolescence/ghetto culture and on the other hand the police is unfortunately the "hench-man" of a corrupt entity and thus corrupt itself.
It's a tough situation where the single police wo/men will have to be very cautious or it's raining punishment from all sides. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
This is the exact reason why there are ares in Europe, don't know about the US, where police doesn't go anymore. You're on your own.

This is it in a nutshell. There is no need to single out the rare police murderer. The problem is that they ALL fit the above description. If they want to be respected, they need to ask themselves a lot of questions.

How should they break free?
Same as with the ordinary joe blow the ordinary joe "cop" blow has not that much interest in risking something besides the risk on his/her job - which can be quite high. The only difference is that they are a little bit higher up the ladder but have to take a lot of punishment from the public for it - in Europe being a cop is operation futile.
If the people want to win they have to work together for their cause and self interest. If they don't - it's over.

Lots of good deeds get ignored or little press......saw the other day that two white cops pulled over a black lady and her infant who wasn't in a baby seat.
cops asked why and the lady said she couldn't afford it. instead of a ticket or an arrest one cop stayed with the car and the other went and bought a baby seat and gave it to the lady for free.

yep. People don't see that. The people are too easily distracted-TV, movies, porn, social media, entertainers.

Second was too much..I couldn't sleep properly that night...it does something to your brain, like trauma. I had a similar experience with martyrs.

According to the first crappy response that comes up on Google, American pigs kill an average of 1000 citizens a year (in the line of duty). Throw in all of their violent attacks on spouses, dwi murders, etc. and the ratio is about 10:1. For every pig that is killed, ten humans are killed by them.

The cops where I live... are paid so poorly it's hard to imagine them even wanting to get into an altercation with anyone. Some of the cops will get certain perks, but not enough to have a comfortable life with a family. Most of them now are young and not married. Girlfriend has to work fulltime and prob makes more than he does, only she doesn't have to take her life in her hands every time she goes to work.
Most of the cops in this area have lateraled out to L.A or S.D with their families. Sad, sad state of affairs to go from Northern Cali to So Cal... with your family. That would suck ass.

Sadly it goes to show there are far more life threatening jobs

So many sales people are killed.
Not a job I would of attached such a high death rate too.
