(The Hollywood Reporter)Geoffrey Lewis, a prolific character actor who appeared opposite frequent collaborator Clint Eastwood as his pal Orville Boggs in "Every Which Way But Loose" and its sequel, has died. He was 79.

Lewis, the father of Oscar-nominated actress Juliette Lewis, died Tuesday, family friend Michael Henderson said. No other details were immediately available.

Lewis began his long association with Eastwood in "High Plains Drifter" (1973). He also appeared with the actor in "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" (1974), "Bronco Billy" (1980), "Pink Cadillac" (1989) and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997).

One of my favorite movie scenes of all time is when he sneezes on the biker Black Widow's arm when the biker is showing him his Black Widow tattoo.

He truly was a class act all the way.  If there is any character type I'd like to play its his.

On April 7, 2015, Lewis died of natural causes in his Woodland Hills residence.[6] Besides his daughter actress and singer Juliette Lewis; his other daughters are Brandy, Hannah and Dierdre Lewis and Emily Colombier; his sons, Peter, Lightfield, Miles and Matthew. He also leaves nine grandchildren.

Bad few weeks for character actors, we've lost Tom Towles, Geo. Lewis, and Robert Z'dar.

RIP to all.

Good actor.

Unfortunately, since he was a Scientologist, therefore not saved, here is his new home:

Hope this helps.

great character actor with a very impressive body of work. he was excellent in THE DEVILS REJECTS and very memorable in one of my favourites, SALEMS LOT.

also recently dead, though just made public, is richard dystart (LA LAW), aka doc copper in THE THING.

oh, and also, tom towles, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVILS REJECTS.

gentlemen, rest in peace.

RIP Uncle Frankie (Double Impact)

That's scene where Van Dam dreams his twin is fucking his chick is hot. And the Cory Everson scene where she gropes her is even better. Made me rewind the VHS a few times when I was a young lad.
