Title: Rand Paul walks out of Guardian interview
Post by: 240 is Back on April 10, 2015, 11:47:23 AM
It's been 2 days since Rand announced he was running.  And 2 times, he's melted down in the face of a simple question regarding his inconsistencies.

I am beginning to think when shit gets serious - When China comes at the Dollar, when Iran tests a nuke, when NKorea crosses the DMZ... that Rand won't be the cool cat we want at the wheel when shit gets hectic.  These are simple, fair questions about Rand flipflopping all over the place.  He's running way to hot on these.

One huge asset of Cruz is his ability to wade into the viper’s nest and keep his cool. Paul needs to learn that skill if he wants to stay in the race.

This is how it is done:

I would classify a "gotcha" question as "on page 75 of this book in your high school sophmore history class, you quoted..."

however, something like "you said iran wasn't a threat" or "you said we should stop sending money to Israel" are certainly valid questions.

I think the whole defense of "the lamestream media and their gotcha questions..." went out the window with Sarah Palin.  Suddenly anytime a journalist asked a tough question, it became "why are you badgering me"?

I LOVE when the media is relentless, rude, and touogh with ALL candidates.  If a senator can't take a Q abouot his own changing positions, I don't think he has the backbone to deal with 'real' problems a prez will face.

I agree.  He really handles himself well.  Very impressive.

Don't like what I've seen from Rand Paul and his short fuse, getting flustered, etc.  Not a good sign.

EXCLUSIVE — RAND PAUL: VOTERS CRAVE GOP NOMINEE WILLING TO FIGHT FOR CONSERVATISM AGAINST MAINSTREAM MEDIA, DEMOCRATS

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) states in a recent interview that part of the reason he’s fighting so hard against liberal media attacks—and against Democrats including Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz—is because GOP voters crave a nominee who’s willing to stand up and fight for conservatism.

Throughout this week, Paul’s first as a declared 2016 presidential candidate, he’s been the subject of one attack after another from reporters ranging from NBC’s Savannah Guthrie to the Associated Press’ Phillip Elliot. The latest comes from the liberal UK Guardian.

It’s been a largely successful launch week for Paul despite the attacks, he says. He’s enjoyed large crowds at each of his four major events so far in Kentucky, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Iowa. He’s doing a quick stop in California on Friday before wrapping his launch week tour in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday. Nonetheless, Paul has seemed to seize on the attacks as a rallying point to show Republicans he’s willing and able to stand up and fight for conservatism.

does anyone remember candidate Obama, or Romney or Hillary walking out of an interview (I don't recall any but maybe I'm wrong)

Rand has shot himself in the foot right out of the gates by trying to pretend his past doesn't exist

He'd like to re-invent himself and wants everyone to forget everything he has ever said and just pretend right along with him that the old Rand never existed.

Oh brother, he told the reporter he had time for one more question, answered that question, then left when the reporter tried to give him a 2nd question.

::)

Once again, you're trying to cry about every stupid tiny thing as though it's a big deal so you can shill for Hillary.

"Paul spokesperson Sergio Gor explains the situation in an email:

Senator Paul had multiple interviews and the reporter knew we had limited time, that's why he told the reporter that he had time for one more question. When that question ended, he had to move to his next interview. We did not turn the lights off, that was CNN producers who were taping an interview right after and need a different look for the room."

See, this whole spin that "Rand paul is standing up to the liberal media"...

Sorry, but many BASE conservative repubs aren't buying that bullshit line.

The Qs have asked him to explain why he has had multiple postitions on issues.  I think most REPUBS want to know the answer to that one too!

Rand Paul is not cool under pressure, sorry, but he's not.

Yeah, they're not being objective here.  Rand HAS changed positions on these important issues.  Tea party voters DO want to know where he stands on these issues, since he's publicly had 2 positions on military spending, Iran, Israel aid, and amnesty.  THAT IS A BIG DEAL lol.
