I think the biggest problem here is the sucker part of the punch. Cheap shot. At least square up and give the tiny pugilist a chance to block, duck, bob, weave, rope-a-dope, counter, whatever. Something.

The non-reading population here failed to mention it was the boys own father who gave him the love tap. Kid kept running away so he's lucky his dad wasn't a cop or he would've shot the kid in the back.

Why are you acting as if this is somehow not common. The fact is most parents raise their children with physical violence, chastisement, abuse and traumatizing punishments. Anybody who actually tries to raise their child with love and tolerance will be ridiculed by the masses because they don't hit their children. After all, th bible endorses child abuse as a way to raise children, spare the rod............
Let me guess, you want this guy dead but you also hit your children, but you do it with a measured control and a knowledge you are doing what is best for them. ::)

This is the type of ridiculous thinking that promotes child abuse. As if a well loved and cared for child will want to harm anyone. The sad truth is those who act out massive violence on others or normally themselves victims of chronic abuse and violence. So this kid is more likely to harm others, not less likely. Hope this helps.

This is why I'm a huge advocate of Socratic discourse with the toddlers. Nothing like an honest, open conversation about discursive reason and metacognitive awareness to get the little fucks in line.

I'm not sure what prison justice is like in the US, but here in Canada if you're serving time for harming a child in any way, you're a marked target for the inmates and they will kill you if they get the chance. This guy will serve his time in solitary confinement as they know in the general population he wouldn't survive a day because he harmed a child.

You're right of course. I was raised without violence or any threat of force and I absolutely knew that no one was ever going to harm me physically and I still had so much respect for my parents
that I would not even dare to raise my voice against them no matter what. I was in a lot of trouble as a kid and teenager but I always knew that no matter what I did I could always
expect love and understanding which is why I hardly ever lied to my parents.
On the other hand most of my friends experienced at least some form of physical abuse during their childhood and when I saw how they behaved towards their parents I was in disbelief... they yelled at them, insulted them and even hit them back. They would go and steal from their parents, lie to them about everything, spit in their coffee... and they got just in as much trouble as I did because boys will be boys I guess ;)
There is not only no need to ever hit a child, not even a little slap on the wrist, but it is counter-productive and possibly fucking up your kid for the rest of his life to some degree at least.
