This dude in my opinion had the best structure in bodybuilding. EVER. Better than Arnold, better than Sergio, better than Haney, better than Zane. He' the best Mr. USA, IMO, best Arnold Classic winner (Flex looked his best at Arnold Classics 93, 98 in particular), best Ironman winner. see youtube attachment. Outside of his car accident in 94 and the year after, I'll never understand why he couldn't get shredded glutes and hams. Maybe those of you who are smarter than me can explain. I understand genetics play a large part but then so does dieting and I'm sure many of us have heard in passing or know first hand that Flex wasn't known for his discipline during dieting. We've seen him in 93 and 98 but he could never bring either of those looks to the Olympia. Enter his country pal Ronald. I don't think Flex had any idea what he was going to unleash when he introduced Ronnie to Chad. On one hand I guess you gotta say he's his friend and you're happy to be apart of helping your friend but at your expense? I think Ronnie was going to be Ronnie eventually. But Flex literally helped the guy that would keep would keep him from fulfilling his destiny. And then he had the health problems and that was it as an elite bodybuilder.
Dude could have been probably the greatest all time but he didn't have that killer instinct like a Shawn Ray.

You answered your own question Wiggs. Would Flex have won an Olympia without Ronnie in the picture? Possibly.
But Flex never had the desire or work ethic to sustain a long-term winning streak anyway. So maybe Flex wins the '98 Olympia, but that would have been it regardless.

98 Arnold, he was absolutely shredded as you know. I think possibly after that his kidney problems may have possibly been the thing keeping him from attaining that condition again. I was at the 98 NOC that Ronnie beat Levrone ,and he was about 90 to 95 percent of what he was at the Olympia. Just a matter of timing and bad luck for Flex.

93-94 Felx was at his best aftet that INCLUDING 1998 he was full of OIL and ruined his lines....calves looked like blobs of mishapen shit!!

It didn't ruin his shape, he still looked amazing. I saw him off season before the 99 Olympia he looked unreal. His arms and delts were cartoon like, still round and not misshapen.

I think S. Ray alluded to something like that. And it's one of the reasons why S. Ray wouldn't help other competitors, namely Flex and Kevin, when getting ready for the O, or during the O. You are helping "the enemy".

I always thought Flex's use of synthol was done pretty well. Considering what every one else looked like who obviously used it. Would like to see that pick NJ if you or anyone else can find it.

Too narrow, no calves.

And he would've gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky little ninjas.

Due to Flex not winning the 93 Mr. O, one of the heads of a Chinese Triad organization who lost a considerable amount of money on a bet that Flex would win. That crime boss decided to send Flex Wheeler a message, he had his car sabotaged. Flex stated that his car was going at a speed much higher than 145, I believe his car is limited to 155, which means that someone removed the speed limiter, hmmmm.
This miraculously didn't kill Flex, the crime boss in 1997 decided to send some Ninjas to "flex" on Flex.

I'm glad he never won. Those calf implants look fuckin retarded. What a dope

How bout this one
synthol
-
Perfect structure for back double bi, twisting back shots and front double bi, but his chest was high and narrow. This was very noticeable in his most muscular shots. Those calf implants were silly looking.
However, his 1993 Arnold Classic physique was the best I have ever seen anyone look on a BBing stage.

He didn't have calf implants...Shawn Ray said on this board he made it up to mess with Flex's head. And Flex even joked about it on video.
Esiclene is the most probable, as he used a lot for his delts. And then later it was synthol.

Wack-a-do's were experimenting with all kinds of oils well before Chris Clark invented Synthol...Clark just came along and package and marketed it...

These are amazing. The female's looks like they might be airbrushed on, though?

There was point in time when Flex Wheeler considered the 1996 NOC to be his best ever on-stage conditioning. I feel that he might not believe that anymore.
Flex has acknowledged that 1996 was the year that he used the most drugs. He did the Ironman & Arnold. Then 2 months later he did the shows in Florida, Toronto, and the NOC. Then 4 months after that he competed in the Olympia.
So Flex endured 3 seperate contest seasons. That requires a lot of drugs.

You're right but I saw him in 1993 and he looked flipping unreal..

There was a time I shared your opinion ...
Somehow while Flex had better muscle separation and "prettier" muscle bellies, I think Labrada was more balanced in 93.
And Ronnie had better torso in 98' and quads, and arms ... and no oil
WoooSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH TA NA KA

Flex was all genetics and drugs
he was the laziest, most undisciplined pro in the history of the sport
if he had the discipline of Ronnie he could have been as great as ronnie

This was Flex Wheeler's fifth Iron Man Pro win. Standing tall at 5'10" and weighing 229 lbs, he came in what some may say the best condition of his life (I still think he was a little more conditioned at the 1993 Arnold Classic due to weighing less at 219 lbs, but he came in fuller at this contest and was at least 10 lbs heavier). Flex is at the top of the line when it comes to presenting a detailed physique (along with Ronnie Coleman). In my opinion this is the second best that Flex has looked with the 1993 Arnold Classic being his all-time best. Flex looked better here than he did at the 1998 Mr. Olympia. Also take a good look at Flex's physique and you would notice that this was probably the only time that he brought a "grainy" physique to the stage. Flex dominated the competition with Darrem Charles coming in second along with Aaron Baker in third.
