When I was in highschool, there was a dude that got bullied by some other kid for a long time.
One day he put on lotsa thick clothing, even shin protectors I remember, and beat the shit out of the bully...
Me and the guys (who weren't into this stuff) were amazed, I remember. Guy was instant cool from that day on.
Those were the days my friend.....

Knew a guy who got bullied growing up. By the time I'd met him (at the gym), he was a totally jacked adult. He made it a mission to track down each bully and kick his ass in public.
Dude could hold a f'n grudge.

Lotta people say the first one was staged, but if not, the resident held his cool for very long. Very patient man. I would have gone off on the first push and called it good.
Also, his stance, although not a boxing stance, is definitely the stance of someone who has had some training, and if this wasn't staged, he hit that guy with a sledge hammer blow.
That's the way it goes. Little dude had that Perma-lat spread goin' on too.. with all his buddies in the street. My guess is, there was retribution... harassment...all that infantile shit.

Frankly, I find most any and all discussions around this topic to be pretty...enigmatic.
People who are firmly on either side of the fence are firmly in the "sounds too pretentious to pay heed to" camp.
This is too trivial a thing to feel strongly about one way or another...

I had a good friend growing up, he wasn't a big guy, but his dad was a Marine and taught him combat skills from a very young age. He was quiet and never messed with anyone, he had been training in TKD and boxing since he was 5 years old.
One day in high school, we are at lunch and this is when the Mexican wanna-be gangsters usually would walk around in groups of 4-5 dudes and start shit with people. Not sure why they did this, but every day during lunch they would cause problems.
So this little gang banger starts throwing french fries at random people, hits my friend right in the head. My friend throws it back and pegs the little guy right in the chest. So guy and his friend walk up to my friend and mumble something stupid. Then one of them grabs my friend by the shirt and tries to wrestle him around. My friend unleashed a barrage of punches, both dudes laid out on the tile in like 10 seconds.
It was like the Matrix. 2 guys knocked out and my friend walks off untouched. Most people had no idea what happen.
They never approached him again. Unfortunately my friend killed himself a few years back. He was a good guy who went to Iraq and came back all fucked up mentally. Ended up shooting himself. He was the baddest dude i had ever known. Always calm and cool, but if you fucked with him or his friends, he'd ruin your day quickly.

You know what? The chubby kid made a mistake: He walked away when the skinny kid was coming to. The tormented kid should've dropped him on the kerb, follow it up with a kick to the head to knock him out completely and then punch him on the ground so as to send a serious enough message that this is what is to happen to you if you fuck with me.
I used to be a bully when I was going to school and feel like absolute shit that anyone actually lost any sleep over my insecure ass. Let alone contemplate suicide.
