Title: MMA vs Boxing
Post by: thegamechanger on April 28, 2015, 03:42:24 AM
i've watched quite a few mma fights but lets be honest here, isnt boxing on a whole other level?
watching someone like floyd and pac... the speed, the power, the technique, the timing... they just make mma fighters look like amateurs.
and they train so much harder, and they go 12 rounds... a lot of mma fighters are done after 2 rounds, some hardly last 1 round... what the hell are they doing?
conor mcgregor is called a big name, have you seen that guys boxing? he couldnt last one round against the top boxers... someone like jose aldo could never make it as a boxer, or he would be one. (and he might be the best mma guy ever)

The ground game of MMA basically just looks like two homo's sniffing each others asses.

Every other retard these days does MMA. Go to any gym and speak to a few of the guys and you can bet at least half of them are "cage fighters". ::)

Boxing FTW. 8)

i cant remember last time i saw good boxing in an mma fight, most can hardly throw a combination... now i know some matchups makes it difficult they have to watch for takedowns etc but still when was the last time a fighter got hit by an uppercut and hit the floor? surely in all those fights, all those matchups, all those rounds that should be able to happen... they spend way too much time doing other stuff obviously so they end up being ok in everything, and superior at nothing  :-\

The ground game ruins MMA for me as a spectator. Sure, there is a lot of skill involved but it's awful to watch.
I actually quite enjoy the stand up aspect of the sport.

If you don't like ground game, you're not into MMA. And you should stop being delusional in thinking you are, go watch K1/boxing.

If you can't watch through this in it's entirety, move along;

Boxing & Kickboxing are harder to learn than MMA

Boxing is a brutal sport. If anyone says it isn't they have never boxed in the ring. I have nothing but respect for MMA fighters. In both sports they are in incredible condition. I like to watch MMA but boxing is on another level  for being entertained. I know for many who are not familiar with the ground game find it boring and sometimes I do too.

I hear varying estimates but Mayweather and Pacman are going to split between 180 to 300 million dollars. The main event of a UFC they are lucky if they get 200K. White puts the money in his pocket.

In boxing and kickboxing you don't have to worry about getting taken down.

In MMA you always have to be ready for a shoot, which is why it's different.

I always enjoyed those MMA-fighters who were so crafty and quick that they could unleash their arsenal with great timing and in a certain range / from a certain angle without fear of getting taken down.

This is it for me too. It always reminds me of what happens when two drunk guys or two kids fight, just lying there till one has enough. Every once and a while, you get two guys that want to turn it into a punch and kickfest which is enjoyable, but that's rare.

It doesn't have the excitement of a good boxing match where guys are picking shots, and coming up with interesting attacks, etc....
