Third time too arrested for drunk driving. He should have the book thrown at him. Believe it or not at the legal limit most people seem okay but it's dangerous to drive. I would guess almost all people leaving a bar who drank at 1AM are over the limit. The blood alcohol reading this cop was at shows he was completely blasted.

Stupid drunken murdering pig....  Four of em'......in a strip club, probably showing off and thinking the dancers were into them for their brilliant personalities.   The whores most likely laughed at them as the a-holes stumbled out the door to their fate.

Wonder how drunk (or stupid) the jackoff passengers were that none of them noticed their vehicle driving the wrong way on a major highway.  Probably not the first time the future inmate drove home shitfaced, figuring his worthless badge will get him home if stopped.  F@@king dickhead.....

In before Agnostic007 defends the drunk cop and says something like, "It wasn't his fault. He was just trying to protect and serve."

Could getbiggers from other countries post stories about their degenerate police forces, or is this primarily Amerihole?

I take it if he was Sam the butcher in a fatal drunk driving accident you wouldn't give a fuck but since it's a cop you're so happy about it . I would love to see your driving record.

Don't be a sheep swayed by the sensationalism of the main stream media. There are about 670,000 cops in America. Last year they had contact with 53 million citizens in the course of their job. What I mean by contact is giving a traffic ticket, a warning, called because of a service call, accidents, interviewing people, reports of a crime, sick calls, disabled motorist, arrests and others.

Out of 53 million contacts the Bureau of Justice statistics 26,000 complaints of excessive force. That's less than 1% of all police contacts of 53 million. Of those 26,000 complaints only 2% of those complaints were sustained. So .039% of 53 million contacts had a complaint that was sustained.

Last year 84376 rapes were reported. 30,800 traffic deaths, and 14827 murders. You are 7 times more likely to be murdered than be the victim of excessive force. 15 times more likely to die in a car accident and 42 times more likely to be raped. And probably not by a cop.

Want to avoid problems with the cops? Don't break the law. If you are arrested don't resist in any fashion. Fight the charges in court if you think you are innocent. The street is not where you hold court by arguing with a cop waving your hands around so he can't handcuff you. You have no constitutional right to resist arrest.  Yes, the cop has a duty and right to use force against a resisting person.

Sam the butcher?  A Brady Bunch reference paired with a drunk driving death story?  Lol.

Drunk driving is bad no matter what the offenders occupation is.  It's just hypocritical when someone who is supposed to prevent stuff like this from happening does it himself. This stupid arrogant pig and his swine passengers just found out that although they may be above the law in their own town, the laws of average and gravity caught up with their asses.

And please show me where I expressed happiness about any part of this article....

You're a cop hater and you know it. You can rationalize it away with your simpleton rhetoric. Using terms like pig and swine tells me all I need to know about you.

No sympathy from me for these guys. I'm just glad they hit a semi truck and not a car. I hope the truck driver was okay. If all 4 of the cops had died, I would figure its a fair deal. I hate drunk drivers, I hate cops who drink and driver worse. And at 3 times the legal limit there is not a chance in the world he or his partners thought he was borderline and ok to drive.

I'm not a fan of the police and are skeptical of their actions when warranted, such as in this case.

If you're willing to turn a blind eye to a murdering pig's actions because you blindly support law enforcement, so be it.  Youre not alone in your mixed up thinking.

By the way, the article says that  this a-hole was convicted of DWI twice before this.  Wonder how many times he was let go to drive home...or why he still has (soon to be had) a job.... Maybe if he had slammed into one of your loved ones on the ride home you would feel differently.

F@@king arrogant pig......

You're correct....

How out of it were the passengers?  They must have all blacked out if the guy with the .024 drives..

"Abad, a six-year veteran of the department currently earning a base salary of $92,416, was in a total of 8 accidents prior to the wrong-way crash, including two where he was charged with drunk driving."

Ridiculous.. You get charged with DWI here, you are fired. In years past, officers have gotten charged with DWI and went through rehab, counseling etc and were able to keep their jobs. 2nd time, fired. Now Before trial, before anything, you are fired. I have the Uber app, much cheaper than what a DWI cost in money and potential lives

For civilians, if I were king, first DWI you get, IF you are stopped and there is no crash, no injury, you would pay court cost, fines and 90 days in jail. IF it involves a crash, no injuries (other than your own) 1 yr in jail. Anyone else hurt 5 years. 2nd offense 20 yrs. 3rd, life..

Cops, 1st offense- Loss of job, court cost, fines and 5 yrs if no crash or injury.

Or, they were less drunk, but it was his car, and they thought "If he gets stopped, at least I'm not going to get in trouble so I'll let him drive"

I suppose... I just couldn't imagine getting in a car with a person who is drunk three times greater than the allowable limit.  The people who were lucky enough to survive the crash probably will not make that mistake again.

interesting numbers.

the problem with those numbers it that it seems that the rest of the world combined, would have much higher numbers than these, yet the majority of the deadly force and mess ups seem to be coming from the US.

I wish I had your abilities to be able to determine what someone else will say in a particular environment .  In the last year our chief came out with a policy of zero tolerance. If you are stopped for DWI,  and there is reason to believe you were ,  you are terminated ..  I publicly supported the policy  in more than one staff meeting and in several meetings with my personnel

Drunk driving is one of those violations where most people not all, but most people who commit it don't set out to drink and drive but alcohol by its very nature impairs judgment ..  I've seen many times where someone will make a comment at the beginning of the night about getting a taxi if they get too drunk, and then when it's closing time argue that they are okay to drive.  That's why people wake up with 2's  when they thought they were going to bed with 8's.  The only real way to combat drunk driving is education and stiff penalties .  An education campaign that drives home the point if you wait to make a decision about arrangements for a ride home till after you start drinking you are going to make the wrong decision almost every time. You have to preplan if you are going to go out and drink .  And you have to know if you get caught it will not be possible probation and some money out of your pocket .  Even then we are still going to have traffic fatalities because of it.
The fact cops, doctors and nurses who should very well know the dangers of drunk driving do it should underscore how easy it is to make a bad decision when you have been drinking
