A Colorado heating and cooling company was caught refusing to do business in a Denver neighborhood because residents there are "colored people" and "they don't pay their bills," according to an undercover investigation by Fox affiliate KDVR.
A hidden camera set up by the station recorded a female employee with Mile High Heating and Cooling in Westminster, Colo., saying the company will not service those living in Montbello. The workers allegedly said, "They call it Mount Ghetto."
The station's investigation was prompted by allegations from another worker who claimed the company did not service minority residents in one of Denver's largest neighborhoods -- despite claiming on its website that it serves the entire metro area.
After watching the video, ACLU's legal director Mark Silverstein told the station race-based discrimination policies are against the law.
"There are local ordinances, there are statutes and there are even federal laws that forbid this kind of discrimination based on race," Silverstein said.

I honest doubt that. Wouldn't stop me from using them if I lived there. If say the facts are 80% of the people they service in that area are black and never pay their bill. Why would I be mad at them for that decision. I'm sick of this everthing is racist bull shit.

Ended up with zero sales and 1k in the hole advertising. Learned my lesson very fast and the mast majority of my clients are white and Asian. That's the reason I set up in China recently.
That being said, I've never discriminated against anyone or refused services....that's just silly.

I run a small business myself, and although I have a distinct set of values and morals that I believe in and live by, I do not apply those to the customers I serve. That being said, I think the market should be the deciding factor when it comes to how we do business. The individual in need/want of a good or service should be free to choose when, where and how they go about securing that good or service (legally that is). And, that goes both ways. If you are a business and do not receive payment for goods or services rendered, you have a right to refuse that person or entity going forward (I do not consider race or gender to be an entity). Or, you could demand payment, partial or otherwise, up front. No need for the ACLU to be involved in this IMO. I'm sure they aren't the only Heating and A/C business that services the area.
I also feel like the media is purposefully polarizing the races. Not sure I understand how people can't see through that.

The world has always been shit, we just have more technology to make us clearly see just how bad things are.
In fact, overall, violent crime is down (below statement). We have also advanced via science and medicine, etc. Would you rather live in the 1700's, where the lifespan was like 30's or 40's? We have come a long way in terms of law and society. With the advancement of technology and science, we can more easily catch criminals now. Things are A LOT better than they used to be, but not perfect. And I wouldnt say its shittier than its ever been, especially when you look at the OVERALL picture.
