::) ::) ::) ::) ::) fight of the century indeed... two tiny middleage men dancing for 12 rounds that ain't boxing.... the real loser in this fight is the people who paid hard earned money to watch this cake walk... mayweather 48-o or something like that... chavez started his career 87-0 against better competition... and topping them both sugar ray robinson started 40-0 lost avenged that defeat to the raging bull and won the next 88 straight giving him a 128-1 record.... mayweather ,,,please...

to quote larry merchant," the best thing about this fight is the trunks.

what boxing needs is a good heavyweight division, i compare mayweather fights to midget wrestling... 100 some odd million guy got paid for what 12 rounds 366 minutes of playing defense and counter punching... snooze, borefest... watch kirkland vs canelo next week then you'll see what boxing should be....
-
My friend Ed paid for the fight, we watched it there. $100.00 to him is like 10.00 bucks to most, so it was no issue (just a reason to hang out).
We enjoyed it, mostly for the food, beer, wine, rum, his Dad (wine maka) etc...
But we were probably so lit up, we thought we watched a great fight.
Anyways, it was an awesome night...

i get that i'm a boxing fan too, will be watching it next week as part of my hbo package, just saying fight was a big dissappointment all hype not much substance... there's probably more action in these still pics than you get in a mayweather fight...

LOL!!! Mayweather would wipe the floor with Chavez Jr.
probably but let's see what he can do with triple G ??? ??? ??? ???
-
took chavez 33 fights before he faced someone outta mexico ::)
-
Floyd Mayweather should know he's meant to hug his girlfriend and punch his opponent...not the other way around
-
Mayweather will never fight Chavez jr. Too big of a size difference. His niche is 147lbs. He knows that. Doesn't really matter his rep is so shaky he'll never be remembered like the boxers of old. That should teach a few people to never pay for a mayweather fight. Watching your money burn would be more exciting...lol

but that's still 54-0 if you taken away his mexican record. 54 plus 33 = 87-0....... when was the last time mayweather knocked out someone besides his wife/or girlfriends = 2007..i am told..

2011, seven fights ago

GGG comments are getting ridiculous when it comes to 147 fighters, given he won a silver medal at 167 (168 professional). The guy is 34, has been a pro for 10 years and hasn't fought anyone near a lineal or top 25 all-time 160 fighter. I still believe with 18 months in 160 Andrade could box him for an UD/SD in a 12 round fight. Gabe and Stevenson, nothing more than blown up 154s, went 8 rounds with him, and Andrade would stream roll both of them. I'll skip the Ward talk since GGG only wants to fight Froch or Chavez Jr at 168.
andrade has extensive amateur experience and is damn near a 168 fighter crunched into an 154 frame at weigh-in. I'm not sure what he re-hydrates too.
Willie Monroe is a "B" version of Andrade with no pop like Paulie. Lets see how many rounds he goes with GGG.

FMW would need someone to wipe his ass after GGG.

I bet Usher put in a good word to Mayweather. From there, all Justin had to do was show up. What could these 2 have in common? Manboy love is no joke.
All the paid pussy around Mayweather isn't enough to throw the gay off his trail.
Mayweather is an oddball. A ton of cash, but feels the need to carry around a bag of cash and pay women to hang with him. He probably feels like he can't trust anyone and needs has a team of yes men in his crew.
I guess it's not a bad problem to have....the pussy must be fun, I can't lie...haha
-
Chavez sr fought better competition? You're having a laugh. I love chavez sr as a fighter...got his entire career on DVD but he fought an absolute ton of Mexican cab drivers to get to 87-0 and when he faced Whitaker he clearly lost yet got gifted a draw.
LOL fought Mexican cab drivers hahahahahahahahaha :D

fmw specializes in flat-footed mexican type come forward fighters, and you'd pay for this match up too instead of ray leonard or hearns. ::)

I've only paid for 3 of his fights throughout his career.
He's a good fighter, but he's far from the best.

I watched the fight on Mexican TV, it was free in Mexico, Philippines and some other country's. Could also watch in over the internet, though streaming can be rather poor at times. Having a VPN helps a lot.
Manny was the aggressor but Mayweather know how to impress the judges and put on a show. With pro fights judging, the aggressor will have the advantage (he's making the fight out of the fight) in scoring. But not this time. Mayweather has flash, is quick, slick and know how to play the judges, I will have to give him that. His defensive skill are among the best, if not the best, in the business. Mayweather is contracted for one more fight before the years end, that might be interesting as to who. Rematch...I wonder. Another 3-4 million gate doesn't seem too bad either. Manny is more blue collar, while Mayweather is slick...take your pick.
Personal view: if it was aggression vs defense, would have to say a draw if going by past matches I have seen.

Here's the problem. Both got paid no matter the result. Why bother killing themselves? Pac already lost 5 fights in his career so losing again was no big deal. If they made it where it was winner gets $100 million and loser gets $25 million I bet you'd have seen a true fight.

Hell no is he the best ever, but the best in this era? I'd say yes. Of course, I admit that his way of getting the job done is not entertaining and lacks warrior spirit, but most people who try to mimic floyd's style end up dead because it's not about running, it's about defensive skills that floyd has almost perfected, gotta give him that.
I haven't paid for a single fight but I always watch him when he is doing something.
Mendez vs Aldo 2, now THAT was a fight, high replay value. You always want to watch floyd's fights, but only once, and then you feel the same way as you would feel after cuming too fast inside a hot bitch you wanted so bad, but it didn't quite work out the way you expected :D

Speaking of which, I think the entire set up in all of the press conferences were awkward. It's like everyone put it together in a hurry. And I think pacquiao died a little from the inside because he talked about his "spiritual crusade" against evil floyd and whatever, but after the fight was done all he was left was a lot of money, but pac lost a bit of his integrity but not because he lost, it's how he lost... that's how I see it, I could be wrong. If i was pac, i'd donate all of his money to the poor people of his country or something, but even then, it's "floyd's evil money"
