Surprised I haven't read any posts yet about it. Was it any good? Rainy today in SoCal and thought it would be nice to kill time and watch a movie.

First one was utter shit.

Seeing it tonight, I'm not a big fan of comic book/fantasy movies but that's what the girl wanted to see.
Glad to hear it was good, maybe won't be a waste after all.

First one was utter shit.
First one was a perfect summer superhero movie, other than Black Widow shooting metal invaders with pistols.

Better than the first one?
no...not better but good worth it IMO
Kid loved it....the Hulk vs Hulk Armor fight was very good

Nope, they missed the pace and there is too many characters with not enough screen time for each.
First movie was picking up speed slowly and reached its climax with the final battle. In Ultron you're thrown into fast action from the first scene and it's kinda breaks the tension.
It's still good though, if you don't mind utter stupidity of the genre.

For an 8 year old perhaps.

Gayer than sinking millions into a Foxcatcher wrestling compound just to get some G4P action.

Or someone who doesn't take comic book movies too seriously.

Good movie, but I thought the same things. Too many characters and too much action going on... almost like a big blur. Character development was lacking for the new characters. It was hard to catch all the dialog. First one was better.

Or, was it a controlled demolition by the United States government? Now, I know, there will be folks here saying "that building was only meant to withstand a 1,200 pound grey Hulk, and this was the much larger 2,000 pound green Hulk" but I find that hard to believe, that one green hulk was enough to topple that skyscraper. And, did you see the cloud of dust that covered all of those people? That had to be dust clouds from an explosion due to a controlled demolition. There were rumors of electricians doing work (oh brother, an electrician that works ::) ) in the days before the buildings collapse, but there are no records of work orders.
240 et al, what are your thoughts on this subject?

First one was better but it's still not a bad comic book film. Editing had some problems and Josh Whedon has been very vocal about the unwanted changes he was forced to make at the behest of the studio.
I mean - it's essentially the same film as the first. The Avengers save the world from some aliens/robots that aren't a particularly menacing threat but are there in great numbers. The first one just did it better.
