Title: Just watched Maggie
Post by: DanielPaul on May 08, 2015, 08:06:06 PM
Arnold's acting was best he's ever been but this is not his genre, the movie itself kinda sucked.

Like superhero movies, the whole zombie genre has become oversaturated.  Walking Dead was the peak... it's all downhill from here.

^ This.

'Course, I think The Walking Dead itself has long since peaked; it's been steadily going downhill, too.

As far as zombie movies go, I loved 28 Days Later.  At least, the first two acts ... the stuff with Chris Eccelston and the army guys was a bit too weird for me.  Neat message -- supposed sanctuary turns out to be jumping from the frying pan into the fire -- but still just a bit off.

This was a different take on the zombie movies, focusing on a family's decision what to do with their daughter after she is bit by a zombie and slowly turns into a zombie. I think it was probably Arnold's best acting yet but the movie was really slow and somber, kind of a downer. Hopefully, Arnold will continue to take smaller character roles such as this now that he is almost 70 years old.

now that we know he actually can act I hope he does kinda a Clint Eastwood type thing, maybe a Gran Torino II lol.

He was thinking what can I do in between terminator movies to make people stop talking about the filthy 250 lb guatamalan pig I ruined my marriage for.

Arnold has done two, arguably three, good roles since his comeback.

Escape Plan
Terminator Genisys

I stopped watching after 45 minutes. It was so slow moving. I thought there was going to be nonstop action. Maybe I missed out on that part because I shut it off. Oh well!

I thought i'd hate it but actually quite enjoyed it, good acting from all, never found it boring because of the atmosphere and tone
