How do you like your chicken, iron brothers?
Was a breast man for a long time, but I'm leaning out for the summer and decided to stick with thighs. Just couldn't deal with the blandness. ( I know there are ways to cook them so they're not SO bland, but thighs are still much tastier and much less fuss.)
If you check out various calorie counter sites, you see that the nutritional profile for chicken thighs varies greatly from site to site. Chicken breasts all say just about the same thing, but thighs range from "not that much worse than breasts" to almost the same as a quarter pounder in terms of fat/calories ratio. I'm definitely pro-thigh. I've been dropping fat and maintaining size and have been looking forward to meals. My only concern is possible health risks of long term daily thigh consumption.

Yes, much tastier. PITA cooking stove top (splatter everywhere).

There are way too many dark vs. white threads today

If you eat a lot of them, try braising. My wife does 2 6 pound Costco bags for me every week. One braised all at once and one reserved for other meals. The braising takes about 3 hours to cook, but it's only about 15 minutes of actual work and they turn out SOOO tender.

I prefer boneless and skinless chicken. Thighs are easier to cook while retaining their juiciness than breasts, which tend to dry out if you don't cook them right. Thighs have more flavor. The reason for this is that thighs have more fat then do chicken breasts. Fat adds flavor and moisture to meat.

i go by:
breast: 1.1 cal / gram
thigh: 1.35 cal / gram
skin + thigh: 2 cal / gram
you're probably overcooking the breasts. cut and pound them thin (~1cm), get the pan hot (300+ c), add a little oil, salt them, and cook 15 seconds a side, flipping 2-3 times. they'll be moist, delicious, and well-browned -- not bland at all. rest for 5 min and slice across the fibers.

Roast a whole bird, pull off the meat while it's warm, store it in bags, use it however. Simmer the bones for stock, strain it, fridge it, scrape the fat off the top. Make soups, cook rice, or put it on the dog's food along with the 'meat I don't want' pile from the roast.
Roast up 4 birds on the weekend and you'll have chicken ready for a microwave reheat for a couple weeks. Affords way more time for Getbig and you won't go back to cooking small portions from raw every time.

Big Tits, thick thighs, hips and ass. That said, even though I used to be a huge breast man, I much prefer to date a girl with small tits and solid thighs and ass, over big tits with skinny legs and no ass.

No, cooking technique is not the problem My wife actually cooks chicken breast so well that several people who claimed they don't like breast meat changed their minds after dinner at our house. And her mother and father are chefs, so she's got a complete bag of tricks: chicken breast mole, low fat chicken francaise, garlic sauce and teriyaki sauce made with diet soda, velveting the chicken, brining, etc. The simple fact is breast meat is not a succulent cut and if you are eating up to 2 pounds a day, it get's boring fast, no matter how well it's cooked. On top of that, the tastier you want to make it, the more time consuming it is.That is not necessarily true with thighs.

Thighs have more flavor because they also have more fat. The fat not only adds flavor to the meat, it keeps it moist. I'll eat either. Some dishes call for thighs and some are better with breasts. Breasts are a little trickier to cook and keep juicy.

I think most people know that thighs have more fat. That was my point of the thread: breasts are generally considered the preferred bodybuilding food because they are leaner, but in higher quantities, they can be a chore to eat. For me, at least, the higher fat content of thighs isn't keeping me from leaning out. I avoided them for years because I had been indoctrinated with the "chicken breast is superior" propaganda, but I think thighs are the better choice pretty much all the way around. To maintain a lean physique with greater than average mass, I don't think their fat content is high enough to affect it adversely and the taste is far superior.
