Bill O'Reilly reportedly beat his wife in front of his daughter
Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly, known for his hardline stance on family values and violence in the home, allegedly assaulted his ex-wife, dragging her down the stairs by her neck in front of the pair’s now 16-year-old daughter, according to court documents.
The documents were part of a recently-concluded child custody case in New York, in which a judge ruled that O’Reilly’s ex-wife Maureen McPhilmy would get custody of their two children. Though the vast majority of the case’s documents have been sealed because they deal with minors, Gawker has been able to confirm that the judge did in fact hear testimony about the alleged incident, which took place around 2010.
The allegation is just the latest in a string of incidents that have come to light following the couple’s divorce.
According to Gawker, O’Reilly has not only attempted to have his ex-wife excommunicated from the Roman-Catholic church (which views getting divorced and remarried as a sin against God), but he also used his influence to launch an internal investigation into McPhilmy’s new boyfriend, a Nassau County Police detective.
O’Reilley has also been a on record as blaming minorities’ plight on familial issues, including domestic violence.

They excused Bill-Os numerous lies earlier this year, even after Bill-O chided Brian williams for far fewer lies.
Will they excuse his domestic abuse, too? Will the viewers? IF they had suspended him for the lies, like NBC did with williams, absorbing a blow like this, and possible quietly retiring him, might be easier. but now they have a guy going on the air tonight, amidst the revelation he dragged a woman down the steps by her neck in front of her daughter. That's way worse than fibbing about witnessessing suicides or war coverage.
Will FOX endorse domestic abuse? I don't think they will. Megyn and others on that staff might not stand for it either... how can Gretchen play nice with oreilly when he did this? This story is national now.

Daughters have never lied for their mothers...
He may have done it.. but it's not uncommon for someone to make false allegations during a divorce. And the wife looses a little credibility if she didn't report it to the police when it happened. That daughter backs up her story certainly helps her case, but.. again.. not an independent witness, she has a dog in the hunt.
