Does anyone here do it? Good/bad results?
-
Not good if doing legs or back. PLus you will need two meals before bed. This leaves you no choice to have a shake after, then an hour or so the other meal. To eat, brush your teeth mabye take a shit and everything has you in bed much later than 2hours later.
Or maybe you don't need those two meals. I think most would wake up hungry if even just one large meal was had.
Forget pre workouts in this case as well.

Working out increases my metabolism. It is hard to go to bed and fall asleep when you're all hyped up. I'd advise against this based on my experience. However, everyone is different.

why before bed and not in bed ???

I workout around 11pm and bed about 2am. My energy levels are still really high then and I get a meal in after too, my workouts are fast and I'm done in under 30 mins.
For some reason I don't have the same drive in the day, it's as if my energy levels keep rising until I have that late workout. I've tried early workouts first thing before and I'm at about 30% compared to night time

I work at the gym and I'm used to train before going to work, around 2 pm.
But during this cutting session I'm looking forward to test the "before last meal cardio". My main concern is that the cortisol levels are going very very high, efore going to bed with lete night cardio. Also something like Primemuscle saids, about the hype and tension before sleeping.
Maybe the same problem exists with the to late night training.
But everyone is different, and we have to test things to chose wise.

Good luck getting to sleep.........I used to do it and would be wired for sound for hours afterwards. :(
-
I do it but don't like it. I'm too wired/overheated when I go to bed. With a family it's one of the only times I get to work out though. Occasionally I will wake up early in the morning to workout, but it's not easy to do.
-
I train when ever the mood strikes me,no set time here.yesterday i worked out at 830 pm and went to hed at 10,today i worked out at 1030 am.Makes no difference to me.
-
yeah i did it last night. terrible move. slept like crap.
-
I do it all the time.
It's better than not training.

No not at all. I'm trying to be accurate at my effort. This thing about late night training, among others things: very strict diet, 45 minutes cardio every day, tanning at the sea... etc...

did you use anything caffeine during workout? I had a cup of iced tea before training at 1030pm. Then a burger afterwards. Asleep by 1:30 am... Slept absolutely terrible. May have been the burger more than the caff.
-
I used to do it when I first started training. It worked well and never had a problem with sleep.
-
Same and I actually think it helps me sleep. It tires me out that bit more so I actually go to bed only when I'm tired rather than laying there for ages trying to nod off. on a work night I get no more than 3 hours sleep and non work night no more than 5. Sod wasting time trying to sleep 8/9 hours a night
