I'm not happy about it either but if we hadn't voted it in we'd be called bigots and homophobes worldwide. You're phucked if you do and phucked if you don't. I'm more concerned with immigration it's a far bigger problem.

There's nothing I can do alone but people are starting to see that multiculturalism is an awful idea and as soon as Sweden falls further down the hole we might all start getting some sense. I know what I'd do if I was in power. I'd literally have them burnt out of their houses and put on a boat back home. The only ones who'd be allowed stay are the productive/law abiding ones. The rest of the sand blacks and monkeys can be slaughtered for all I care

People were actually afraid to say they were voting No because of the pressure being put on us to vote it in. The media were so biased and the Yes campaign had way, way more funding it was evident from the lack of "No" posters around the country. Sickening. Most of my close friends voted No but wouldn't openly admit it to randomers.

That is a lie spread to further the gay agenda (not that I care about opposing equality here, if fags want to marry in a civil ceremony then good for them).

A more accurate figure is 1-2% of the male population is homosexual.

Who cares? It was a democratic referendum, did you vote? I voted but so did nearly 3 million others and I guess that is how democracy works.

You don't always like the result but I'd prefer this to hanging gays from cranes in the street and living in a theocracy. I see it as a wedge for gay adoption which i disagree with (and there was complete dishonesty that gay adoption laws would follow - they will) but the people have spoken so be it.

I didnt vote. I have no objections to gays in this country getting married, though I think marriage is just a social construct and shouldn't make people feel superior to those who are not.

What are your disagreements with gay adoption before I say anything on it myself?

I'm a single father and much as I love myself I lack the compassion of a mother and she lacks the discipline of a man. Call it stereotypical, whatever, it's true. When he was young and bold I disciplined him cos she was too soft. When he was sick she believed it I was like "meh he will be ok".... and he was properly sick (I do the same with myself and everyone). Women have certain qualities as do men and that's why it takes both to make a child. Obviously that is not always there but it should be the ideal and to say there is no difference between hetero and homo couples raising kids is disingenuous and dishonest.

You can point out a load of examples of great people raised by single parents etc but across the spectrum the best environment is with a mother and father.

Either way, my main point was how can you be embarrassed by your "ancestry" when it was a democratic vote in the largest turnout ever for a referendum? People died for our sovereignty and the right to vote and people around the world would die for the right to vote. Being ashamed because of the decision of a majority of the populace by a fair democratic vote is fairly weak grounds for shame. Shame is having your country being such a shithole it murders those of other religions and disavows democracy... like the middle east.

your a lawyer I believe so you already know that it is possible for a gay person to adopt and soon it will be possible for gay couples to adopt
its not as though the country is overflowing with unwanted babies (we had several referenda to export that problem). One might suppose that babies are as available as points on a supervalu reward card from the noise of the past few months.

Eh no. You have to be married (straight marriage) to adopt in Ireland as it stands... and if the woman dies after adoption is agreed the husband cannot adopt. That is Irish law - men can't be dads but fuck it if they are gay who cares. That gap is what pisses me off. Never wonder why most adoptions are of foreign children?

Yet they will never take a kid away from a junkie family who spend all child benefit on heroin (which I see many Tuesdays near where I live). Fuckign disgrace.

I should probably add that before any training, work or anything I am a single father who has experienced the full shittiness of Irish law as it stands against single fathers. Mother hounds you down as the father then doesn't put your name as father on birth cert? OK. Break up with mother after four years (unmarried) and have access withdrawn on a whim? OK. Get court order on access, guardianship and legal custody? Fuck it, she can break it at will without repercussions but don't forget to pay that maintenance!

Yeah, equality all right.

homosexuality is not only contrary to Christian teachings but natural law I see nothing to celebrate in its acceptance by modern, western society

Whats next? Acceptance of pedophilia? After all some people are attracted to juveniles why shouldn't they be allowed to follow their natural urges it is madness

Racial equality is another canard the races are not equal

How many children do you suppose grow up in imperfect households and families? I'd bet there are millions. I'd bet having "two dads" or "two moms" is far better than a childhood that's spent growing up in foster homes or living with abusive parents.

Ozzie and Harriet were considered the epitome of the ideal parents and come to find out, they were not exactly as portrayed on the TV show. So much for ideals.

I thought they could already adopt with a civil partnership? One of the points of defense from the Yes campaign was that they already have the right to adopt so this was nothing to do with children. If our government cares so much about gay marriage but little about single fathers what does this say about the social engineering here.

There have always been children being raised by same sex parents.  Some are from previous heterosexual marriages.  Some from adoption, and now some from IVF or surrogates. They do just fine.

There are no shortages of children in need of loving homes.  Gay adoption is not taking children away from heterosexual families.  Same sex parents are often the only ones willing to take special needs children. Same sex parents are often the only ones willing to take mixed race children. I have many friends with adopted children.  Almost all are special needs or biracial.

Don't want to wait years to adopt an infant?  Lots of babies available from Asian teens with black boyfriends.

I'm not Irish, but I see nothing wrong with being proud to be Irish. When Europeans were immigrating to the U.S. in droves after WWI and WWII, people here had derogatory things to say about pretty much all immigrants. Anyone who has traveled to Ireland in recent times, knows that it is a beautiful country, inhabited by some very fine, warm and friendly people.

You could say the same thing about any nationality - so what, your parents fucked and you spurted out your mom's vagina in the USA or Nigeria... you're still the same would be stain on a mattress. Who you are is determined by what you do and how you act, not who fucked to make you and certainly not where they happened to fuck.

They're the negroes of the white race so they become very 'proud' as a defensive mechanism.

Hardly worth replying to, but let's analyse this:

1) Assuming you are from USA you have a black president as your leader, elected by a vast majority.

2) +40 million Americans are Irish by descent; James (Seamus in Irish) is a common Irish name. You might want to check your genealogy before you realise you are a self loathing troglodyte.

3) Why should anyone be ashamed of their "race". Nazis were white as were communists. As were the Americans ans English in WW2. So which race should be ashamed? The white or the white?

4) Want me to point out more you stupid fuck or will you quote some irrelevant passage from the bible, a noble work of fiction, but fiction nonetheless?

Missy and Penelope, Ireland’s only lesbian penguins, have begun building a nest together again this year and are sitting on eggs that probably won’t hatch.
However, they already have something to celebrate, as a cake was brought in yesterday with a big ‘yes’ for the pair who have built a rock nest and laid eggs in Dingle Oceanworld for the second year in a row. The gentoo penguins, Penelope aged 7 and Missy aged 5, began their romance a year ago. While gay male penguins in captivity are not unusual, gay female penguins are.

“We were so chuffed to see them do their mating rituals and the news spread even to Australia,” Dingle Oceanworld manager Máire O’Shea said.
The pair have laid five eggs but none have hatched.

Last autumn, feeling the males were underperforming, and in an effort to get Missy’s and Penelope’s eggs to hatch, two new males — this time with Viking blood — were introduced. But alas so far neither lady has shown any interest in the Denmark males.
“We’ve been watching. But so far, they have eyes only for each other,” the manager said.
The penguins are among the biggest attractions at the Dingle aquarium.

Tbombz,

I wish all these folks you've exampled the best in their struggle to become non-gay. I personally feel sorry for them because they have been encouraged to live a lie about something that just isn't that big of a deal. Being gay or being straight does not define whether a person is good or evil.

You apparently being a born again Christian, who previously made an absolute disaster of their life will without doubt disagree with me and likely you will quote the bible now in defense of your new found position.

I hope you realize that a lot of folks who submit or are forced to submit to conversion therapy become so miserable and confused that they commit suicide, which is also a sin in the eyes of God. I imagine some folks would say better dead then gay.

Let's get this straight, you were never so much gay as an opportunist who was willing to whore yourself to men, rather than actually do something meaningful with your life. You also were an exceptionally dumb whore who apparently enjoyed bareback sex regardless of the consequences. And now you get to live with your stupidity every day. It is no wonder you are looking for salvation before you die.

You may be born again, Tbombz, but you still have not taken responsibility for your mistakes, at least not on Getbig or your Facebook page. You can possibly fool yourself, but others see through this masquerade. Eventually you will  fall. In the meantime you are doing everything possible to alienate the very folks who might have helped you or at least sympathized with you.

Hey Primemuscle. I feel that I have indeed taken responsibility for my mistakes. Both here on Getbig and on Facebook, and even in real life! I have made multiple public confessions of my stupid decisions and have taken complete responsibility.  :)

As far as my past sexuality... I was never completely homosexual. I was always, from a very, very young age (as young as I can remember) bisexual. If anyone can say that they were "born" gay, I can surely say that I was born bisexual. but, I digress..

On the issue of homosexuals who commit suicide; I would not blame people who tell them the truth about their sins, but rather I would blame the society which has convinced the homosexual that they are unable to change.  Also, we don't know what other factors might be involved in those cases.  One thing you need to know is the very real reality of God, and of Christ, and of His ability to completely transform the sinner and to change the sinners desires. However, there is also a real Devil, and real demons, and they work tirelessly to cause people to be hopelessly devoted to sin.

If you are in fact interested in a Christian view on gay-suicide, this is a great talk on the subject. But, remember, you will have to watch with an open mind or else you will have already decided what you think before you have even watched it!  :)

"Started 2015 with a difficult topic, to be sure. But the death of Josh Alcorn is being used by the LGBT “community” as a baseball bat, and someone has to stand up and point out the real issues. The hatred being heaped upon his parents, the abuse the young man suffered at the hands of the LGBT “community” itself that encouraged his self-destructive thinking, and the sinfulness of Josh’ own attitudes and actions, must be examined. If Christians continue to imbibe the spirit of the age and refuse to call men to a higher standard, one based upon their true nature as creatures made by God’s hand in God’s image, we will be guilty of encouraging more and more Josh Alcorn’s, and the destruction of more lives."

So then, are you saying you are still bisexual? It isn't clear what you mean here. I know from personal experience that a person can be bisexual and not act on it. This doesn't change who they are.

The article you linked, "The Bully Pulpit: When Gay Teens Commit Suicide, Are Preachers to Blame?" speaks to a completely different subject then what I was referring to. I could not get through all the mumbo jumbo from the fellow in the video long enough to get to where he talks about suicide, if he ever does.

What I am speaking about is the affect of conversion therapy on gay and bisexual people. Here is a link to a good article about conversion therapy, http://www.hrc.org/resources/entry/the-lies-and-dangers-of-reparative-therapy   (http://www.hrc.org/resources/entry/the-lies-and-dangers-of-reparative-therapy  ) This sentence really struck me as getting to heart of this situation and its ill effect on folks; "Minors are especially vulnerable, and conversion therapy can lead to depression, anxiety, drug use, homelessness, and suicide." This sentence addresses how seriously people take conversion therapy as being harmful to folks; "California, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia have passed laws to prevent licensed providers from offering conversion therapy to minors, and at least 18 states have introduced similar legislation this year (AZ, CO, CT, FL, IL, IA, MA, MN, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, TX, VT, VA, WA)."

So many people say "I love you" these days, one wonders if they actually realize what it means.

For me, Love means Jesus Christ.

Jesus says that homosexuality is a very serious sin.

So, for me, I would rather tell people the truth.. even if they don't like it.. rather than let them live a lie and end up going to Hell.

You know, on a side note, there actually some pretty interesting theories about the causes of homosexuality. For example, here is a study which showed that homosexuals are more likely to be narcissists with low self esteem.

"The homosexual students score higher in both measures of narcissism and lower on the self-esteem measure, compared to their heterosexual counterparts."

 http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924933812751064

And here is a paper which describes homosexuality as a form of a "reparative drive"

"Most men cannot live perpetually in the False Self of the "Good Little Boy" and "Nice Guy" roles which are so common to homosexually oriented men. These are repressive, inauthentic and inhibited presentations of self to the world. In an effort at reparation, they then choose the opposite: the rebellious, shocking, "naughty," offensive, "bad boy" and "sexual outlaw" roles. As a form of rebellion against the restrictive, false role of the "Nice Guy," homosexual enactment seems to promise liberation and rebellion. It feels transgressive, outrageous, "free.""

In the meantime you are doing everything possible to alienate the very folks who might have helped you or at least sympathized with you.

excellent post prime.

Tbumz,

You do know that all this posting about NOT being gay, and having become a born again religious loon, just screams out that you are still totally gay, right?

Ireland will resemble all the other Western Europeon nations in the next 20 years - Liberal, secular and multicultural.

Whether that's a good or bad thing will depend on your own political views.
