Ed Garcia: Florida man jailed for hitting on 911 dispatcher, brags about muscles

An emergency call center in Florida received a very unusual phone call this week when a 44-year-old man called 911 to brag about his enormous muscles, reported News4Jax on June 5. The caller was identified as Eduardo Garcia and according to police, not only did he call 911 to brag about his muscles, he also hit on the dispatcher.
Initially Eduardo Garcia reported that he had called 911 because he had received a threatening phone call, but soon he began to flirt with the operator. He boasted of his enormous muscles and asked the lady on the other end of the line several times if she would go out on a date with him. Fruitland Park police said the dispatcher disconnected Garcia's first call when he asked if she was single, Huffington Post wrote.
According to the report, Garcia called back two more times to ask the dispatcher's current relationship status. He was disconnected both times, officials stated. Having had enough of Garcia's antics, officers tracked the calls and discovered that they were coming from Lake Griffin State Park. However, an officer went there and found the campsite to be empty.
Investigators soon learned that the phone belonged to an "Edward Garcia." Armed with this information, the officer returned to the campsite which was registered to an "Eduardo Garcia." The officer called the number connected to the 911 calls and it rang inside the suspect's tent.
When officers went sizing up the location where Garcia called from, they found the muscular Casanova surrounded by beer cans in the tent. As police arrested the inebriated man, Garcia threatened officers and stated that he wanted to head butt and kill them. He is also accused of spitting on the back of the head of one of the officers. Garcia is currently is being held in the Lake County Jail on charges of battery on a law enforcement office and misuse of the 911 system on $25,000 bond.
