3. Michael Pare v. Willem Dafoe in Streets of Fire (starting with sledgehammers)
2. Rowdy Roddy Piper v. The black dude in the alley in They Live
1. Sonny Corleone beatdown of Carlo in The Godfather
-
And pretty much all of Kung Fu Hustle
-
Ray Liotta repeatedly pistol whipping the Jewish guy that assaulted Karen in Goodfellas.
Joe Pesci, grabbing a pen, and stabbing the rude guy in the throat repeatedly in Casino.
-
Best two fights I've seen...opening slugfest between the two superheroes in WATCHMEN and the fight in the bathroom between Viggo Mortensen and the Russian mobsters in EASTERN PROMISES

Both very good. Much Italian rage in these clips.

Bad Boys (1983)
Mick O'Brian ( Sean Penn ) vs Paco Moreno ( Esai Morales )
-
Bar scene in A Bronx Tale and Eastern Promises bathroom fight scene. The Sopranos episode when Tony kills Ralph is good also.

two recent ones come to mind:
1. from the avengers, the first fight aboard the avenger's home ship (can't remember the name of it). incredible blend of computer graphics and live action, way beyond anything else i had seen at the time.
2. colin firth's rampage in kingsman: the secret service. again, this one blew me away with the live action / cg blending. for the first time, i saw a new form of seamless, prolonged "fast motion" fight scene. already copied by the latest mad max movie.
i recall how dated the dark knight rises felt after seeing the first avenger's movie. christian bale's clunky fight scenes were so boring... after seeing kingsman, i felt the same way about the second avengers movie -- they got one-upped.

This is one of my favourites

I agree, but it seemed more realistic than all the CGI stuff.
Some of the best hand-to-hand fight scenes I've seen recently were in CA the Winter Soldier. The elevator fight scene stands out in particular. IMO, they were much better than most hand-to-hand fight scenes in the new Avengers movie.

The nightclub beat down with the fire extinguisher in Irreversible.
Pretty much all the ass whippings the dude in The Raid handed out.

Even I was yelling "beat him up!!" when I first saw the movie.

-
Jackie at the bar.
Scorpio's contract beating.
One-punch Mickey.

Worst by far, though.
-
pavement scene in american history x.
end of thread.
-
-
Raiders of the Lost Ark - Ford against Pat Roach.
Gladiator - Crowe against Phoenix.
-
Worst by far, though.
Fully agree, that was dreadful. Anyone who's killed a man with a fire extinguisher knows a skull's integrity will fail along the plate joints with only a couple good thwacks. What's French for 'research' ffs?

-
Almost posted this one. "I felt like destroying something beautiful."
-
What the fuck is going on in the fire extinguisher video?
Is it typicall to try and assfuck a guy you have just beat up? and there was a bloke next to him obviously exited at what was about to take place frantically slapping his tiddler up and down?
Very strange scene
-
I've never seen it but have heard in the movie his wife is brutally raped. I'm guessing he wanted to give the guy a taste of his own medicine?
-
not suprised to find scenes like that linked to on here and recommended and called "top"

Irreversible, twisted film. If I remember correctly, lady was brutally raped, and her man tracks the perpetrator to this freaky gay club called The Rectum (yeah, no shit). Somebody points out "La Tenia," the rapist, and it ends in the above revenge murder. While the club's onlookers masturbate to the gore.
Sick as fuck, but very well made.
Thing is, the dude who points out the alleged perp is La Tenia (The Worm) himself, the real rapist. Just sells out some innocent guy, then enjoys the bloodbath. Oh, the film unfolds backward, too, like Memento.

other recent highlights:
- when max and furiosa first meet and fight in mad max: fury road.
- when max and furiosa first fend off the immortal's pursuit
really well-thought out, lots of cool details.

I grew up on martial arts films, even in Chuck Norris's fan club at one point. Worshipped the guy. Bruce, too - saw Enter the Dragon at least 30 times on VHS (shit, maybe Betamax back then).
First time I saw Above the Law, immediately thought it was better than anything I'd seen before. Had the best fight scenes ever filmed. Aikido choreographs pretty damn well on the big screen.

Irreversible is a great film, worth checking out.

I have heard all of this stuff, but didn't he get beat up by Chuck Norris' bodyguard once?
Maybe I am mistaken, but I could have sworn I heard that rumor.

Seagal is not a trainer for any MMA fighter. There was a youtube vid where he goofs around with Anderson Silva but as far as actually being in a gym daily and actually training anyone -- never happened.
Besides, Aikido is a completely useless as a fighting art and even more so in UFC where you have to wear gloves.

THIS one stands above all others.

No, he never trained Silva. Anderson just humored him out of respect. Seagal knows his art, but all his stories are complete bullshit. He's lied about every aspect of his life - his history is completely fabricated. And he never fought competitively, so just like Bruce, no will ever know what he can really do.
Looked great on film, though.
