At this, Cormier had complained about the "Mystique of Flex Wheeler".

Shawn Ray had said that Flex looked like he had bee stings (shoulders).

Wasn't Flex having kidney problems at that point? I saw him at the last Ironman he competed at in LA during the early 2000's (can't remember the exact year), but looked way off his top form.

He was having issues back in the 90s. Like having issues back stage.

that Dude should have snatched at least one Sandow.......it's too bad that he had to beat Dorian in other to Justify his Mr Olympia worthiness.......if Flex was competing in today's circus , I'm sure it would have been a different story

I think that was the show where Milos and Shawn Ray prepped Flex. According to Milos Flex blew up from 208 pds skinnyfat to 245 shredded within in 3 weeks for that show

Alot of oil in those shoulders..they don't look right at all

Natural freak.
-
Chris is much more balanced

Strange to see how funky his arms and shoulders were now that I know what I'm looking at. Back then I had no idea it wasn't just muscle.
Also never realised how small his pecs were relative to everything else.

if he'd been awarded, it wouldve been general consensus that they awarded a bb with oil and implants.
flex had some amazing outstanding bodyparts, but glaring weaknesses such as lats and pecs...weak in comparison to his overwhelming delts and arms.
his quads werent at the same level either. levrone was more complete. i personally couldnt stand flex w. the calf implants were ridiculously obvious to those who followed his career from a junior. one day- not a shred of calf, the next day, wham!- calves. he really had some shitty calves prior to the implants.

If you'll notice, Vince Taylor had real muscle in his 50's. Flex is now about 50 years old, and he is a mess.
Vince.....

Vince at age 50 (2006 Olympia). I almost think that Vince was better than Ronnie in this pic. Shit; I'd like to see Vince standing next to Jay (the winner in 06).
-
Vince was a fucking beast @ age 45. 2001 Mr Olympia

Vince.....
He was a proponent of lighter weights and higher reps. It seems that is the route for longevity. And guess what? Phil Heath seems to be going that same route, if you follow his career.

His calves and delts were everything but real... ::)

I was at that show. Cormier won IMO. Flex was TOTALLY improved from the Ironman the week before, but Chris was big and full
