Supposedly with Ferrari sourced V6. In 24 hours it will be officially revealed. This is built upon a new RWD chassis. Previous generation was FWD. The original generation from the 60s and 70s was a RWD car.
This car will be Alfa's car that will compet against the BMW 3 series and will be Alfa's next entry into the US, coming on the heels of the Alfa Romeo 4C

It will never be able to compete with BMW's 3 series because Alfa has yet to make a car that is as mechanically reliable as the Bavarian's cars.
Great designs - but they're not the most trustworthy cars. My father had an Alfa. It spent more time in the workshop than on the road. One of my friends here has never had anything else, and she could have just about started renting space from her mechanic.
They look nice. They're not as sound as the BMW's though.
-
looks like a .......... red BMW....

looks like... a ....
car....
-
Looks like a 2005 Toyota Supra. Great job.
-
cool if it's a semi affordable cf monocoque like the 4c otherwise meh...

And what year was that Alfa? Yes, Alfa Romeo's have to prove their reliability, but so does Jaguar, whose XE is a new comer to this group as well. The more the merrier---3 series, C Class, A4, ATS, IS, Q50/60, XE, and now this Alfa Giulia. BMW has been lagging behind in their handling capability, something that they are well known for. This Alfa brings "emotion", which is what they are well known for. Let's see if they can bring the reliability up to BMW standards (probability not on first yr cars).
Also, look not just as the Alfs per se, but of a chassis that may underpin the next Challenger/Charger.

Nissan called, they want their Maxima back..

As I said earlier, all cars basically look the same.
Same shit sandwich, just with a different badge affixed to it.
When will your morons realize this? Cars stopped being unique a long, long time ago.

This car is supposed to help them in the US and China---their volume seller. Along with the niche 4C and another upcoming vehicle...
Is Alfa back (in the US)? Only time will tell.

My first thought was a little BMW mixed with a SAAB.

I think I'd rather have a 2016 Chevelle...

The Alpha in the first post is looking like all the other BMW/Mercedes/Taurus boring sedans & coupes. But with likely much worse reliability.
Seems like the only interesting new automotive designs coming out are for Pony cars, SUVs and Exotics.

There's a reason for that. The Dart is based on the Alfa Giulietta body.

yeah, but this new Giulia is apparently derived from the Maserati Ghibli platform.

Yeah right the Camaro has rear lights that look like a 97 Honda prelude and the range rovers can still be confused with ford explorers
-
Ferrari v6 = expensive garbage
Hope that helps

A 92 Prelude still looks better than most cars being made nowadays.

List some cars from the past that you think are so much better than today. Also, give some examples of cars that you think look the same today. I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from.

Revolutionary.

Sweet mother of the Buddha...I hope the interior is as nice looking.
-

Agreed, I have reflected upon this for a long time.
They have streamlined all cars into looking the same. Very boring.
Only the concept cars look interesting then the finished product looks the same as any new car.
If in doubt, just look at all the pics posted in this threads, case in point.

All cars today tend to have the same design theme---but designers have to work around today's safety parameters as well. Which is why the high beltlines, the hoods, and rears, etc.
also, if you look in the past---almost all the cars of each respective decade tended to look the same. And in Europe from the 50s-60s, even until the early 70s, almost all the cars had those "bug eyes" headlights.
-
Leave it to [the flotsam of] a bodybuilding board to obsess about the aesthetics of the sheet metal and say nothing about what makes it go.
Pantywaists who won't change their own damn oil!

Over the years, I have come to realise that girly men form the backbone of getbig. Luckily there are a few rugged studs like you and I who are not afraid to spend an hour (or a million) in the workshop doing 'stuff' ;D
-
Strongly agree. A man's virility is measured by the number of his unfinished projects!

To quote a bodybuilder;
"It's not how much you lift, it's how much you look you can lift"
;D hahahaha

Yes but even so..
Look at Volvo, Saab and a beetle for example. They looked very distinguishable in the 70 and 80's.

Hahahahahah, if that's the case, then I'm King Fucking Kong! I've got so many unfinished projects, that I have to make projects for my projects. ;D

And where else do you think that engine may go? A entry level mid engine car by Ferrari...named after Ferrari's son, just like before.

I don't think they will put a V6 in a Ferrari in the near future. However, I will predict that the Giulia will be a hit for Alfa Romeo.

I thought it looked classic and purposeful like a 240Z. Large tack, large speedometer, and a tri spoked steering wheel.
