break into the bodybuilding industry? Obviously, competing in bodybuilding is an easy way to break into the industry. But what are the other ways? I have become interested in getting more actively involved in the bodybuilding industry, without having to compete. I am kind of envious when bodybuilders hang out with other bodybuilders, and bodybuilders texting and calling each other. Or the guy who hangs out in the gym and everyone knows. You know, the guy who everyone approaches and talks to about the latest bodybuilding gossip and information. I want to be the guy who hangs out with bodybuilders even if not in the gym. I want to be the kind of guy who receives texts from bodybuilders about the industry and is in the "thick" (no pun intended) of all the leading gossip, etc. Overall, it seems like an interesting lifestyle to be a part of. Bodybuilding is its own subculture with ideals, values, and beliefs. Most everyone here shares this lifestyle, but we stop at bodybuilding forums.
Any advice?

make yourself of value to them, they have to need to be around you because you provide them with something nobody else can.
What I don't understand is your fear of gear use and the law yet you seem to want to get closer to this life. Not sure I understand why.

Just like anything else you need to know the right people.

Sling roids, to start.

I wholeheartedly recommend that you skip it. Its a wretched, soul scaring 'industry' to be sure.

Goodrum and Basile?

A lot of camaraderie among bodybuilders. Training and texting each other for advice. Going on vacations together. Dinner together, etc.

Untaped territory in bb'ing world: The mind. This is your expertise, use it. Become the guy who can make them believe the potential inside them, I would exploit that angle.
From there, you will RULE!

Goodrum and Basile?
I would schedule an appointment with the Mayor of Bodybuilding for one, he will point you in the right direction.

I can build a bicep machine like Basile.

Don't forget about the rectal prolapse and 'tranny delights'.
Didnt Phil Heath and his wife go out to dinner with Jay Culter and Kerry on a few occasion? I believe there were pictures of that.
I want that to be me!!

No joking around, I hung out with the Mayor of Bodybuilding at the New York Pro. But I didn't know he was the Mayor of Bodybuilding. He was actually a nice guy. He took some pictures of me with some pro bodybuilders (Dennis Wolf, Paco Bautista, Kai Greene.)

Train where Mr Olympia competitors train and write about their programs, etc. Then post your observations online here and watch for the haters to contact you and ridicule you. Should be a lot of fun for you.
If you haven't paid your dues in bodybuilding why should anyone notice you or listen to you? You don't have the vocabulary, either.
Failing all else, start up your own internet site with forums. Ron is known in the industry but there is no evidence he has been inside a gym. He proves you don't have to be a bodybuilder to be part of the industry.
ps, I already have a business partner.

That was a good laugh, but that sock you put on your hand with two buttons sewed on as eyes does not count Basile.

Do the exact opposite of this.

What kind of vocabulary do I need? What words should I use? Clearly, I use proper grammar and sentence structure.
Should I use more words like, "Hypertrophy," "Catabolism," and "Maximum Hypertrophy?"
Basile, who is your business partner?

Go to a few bodybuilding shows with a roll of hundreds. Slip a hundred to every bodybuilder you want to hang with. Tell them you're just here to support them and give them your cell phone number. By the next day, you'll have 20 close friends who are bodybuilders and they'll all be texting you like you're the prom queen.

I am not too sure if you read on the first page, but I hung out with the Mayor of Bodybuilding during the New York Pro (2007 or 2008--forgot which one). I did not know he was the MOB at the time. SUCKS!! I missed out on a golden opportunity to be connected to a leading figure in the bodybuilding industry.
The NY Pro was the first bodybuilding show I ever attended. I remember the Mayor of Bodybuilding said to me, "Oh, it looks like youre popping your bodybuilding cherry" because it was my first show I attended. He really said that to me lol. Looking back, its actually kind of funny. :) :D

LOL. You get the vocabulary from years and years of relevant experience. You don't get it from forums or dictionaries.
Who did you beat?

Who did you beat?
I rigged my own bodybuilding contest and picked the judges.
Why do I have to beat anyone? You just said previously that Ron Avidan is famous in the industry and never entered a gym.

Sounds like you want to be vince Goodrum.

Many have tried but there is only one Getbig. So that leaves the bodybuilding and or writer path. Seems you will remain part of the Flotsam.
Be content with being a troll on Getbig. This is as good as it gets for you. Hope this helps.

Basile most likely has many business associates.

Like Cool Hand Luke said, "Stop feeding off me!"

The biggest obstacle to getting into the supplement and fitness industry is probably honesty and integrity.
Demonstrating either is a career killer.
