He had a stroke a few years back. The left side of his face did not recover well. He's on HRT and he still trains pretty hard.

Uh no, but his interview with Ric (well, 'interview'...) has been posted before. I believe this vid has been reposted by Ric, maybe because of the sound quality, don't know..
Andreas is a great guy who loves to share his insights, but Ric is more interested in himself.

He didn't have an f-ing stroke, they severed a nerve when he had that surgery done to remove a cancer/tumor somewhere in his head/neck.

he got a beard so people will think "he looks good for his age" only he isnt 100 years old that people think

I am betting the beard is to help hide his "stroke face" (no matter what caused it)

I'm pretty sure he's said a few times that it's Bell Palsy
-
He's actually 46 years old. Bodybuilding, fountain of youth of peace. ::)
-
Dude had chicks on him like stink on a monkey back in the 80's.

You have my sympathy. I had a near fatal head injury 37yrs ago (seems like last summer) & it messed me up for life.
-
Seems like a polite, decent guy. So hard, though, to connect his new look with the magazine pics from the 80s.

What caused it and what's the treatman/cure?

He's only like 59 years old.
And he looks like shit.

What caused it and what's the treatman/cure?
It's usually idiopathic in etiology, sometimes associated with herpes outbreak but nobody really knows. Basically one of the facial nerves becomes inflamed and unable to function, hence the one-sided facial paralysis.
It clears up on its own in most cases within a couple months, but if it's severe enough it can leave lasting nerve damage. Traditionally treated w a corticosteroid, eg prednisone/methylprednisone, to quell inflammation...gabapenti n has been used to manage the neuropathic pain.
Just a freak issue, thankfully it's not too common

Looked like a stroke.
