Caitlyn Jenner makes top 10 of BBC's most powerful women list

LONDON — She's appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair, was named as this year's Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner and now Caitlyn Jenner has made the BBC's list of most powerful women for 2015.

See also: You don't have to stop calling Caitlyn Jenner beautiful

Jenner took the number seven spot in BBC Radio 4's 2015 Woman's Hour Power List, which identifies women who have had an "exceptionally large impact" on people's lives and an ability to influence others.

"Many news sources describe her as the most famous openly transgender person in the world," Jenner's entry on the list reads.

The list, which in a previous year was topped by the Queen, is decided by a panel of four judges who compile it based on who the most influential women "operating in the UK" are. They also take suggestions from the public as to who should be included.

"It can only be to the good if a wider audience can learn to understand her experience” said judge Sarah Vine, describing Jenner's impact.

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who emerged as a hugely popular figure throughout the UK general election, topped the list, with Anna Wintour in second place and Angelina Jolie in third. Editor of The Guardian Katharine Viner and singer Sia also made the top 10.

This greatly damages and devalues the institution of the ESPN Arthur 'Sooty' Ashe Courage Award, which has nothing to do with transexuality and was originally intended to commemorate the bravery of a man who played tennis while simultaneously being black.

If they insist absolutely on awarding Ms. Jenner then it should be shared equally with landscape contractor Hector Gonzales who, at great personal risk and without regard for his own safety, has been mowing the pitch, "borrowing jor horse," and making major Hispanic inroads in the Polo community for over a decade.  Also welcome would be an honorable mention for all members of the extremely ethnic Asian Croquet Team as well as the Hindu Curling Contingent.  Ms. Jenner is, however, more deserving than Eddie Sealclubber, the Inuit sport fisherman, who was added simply to bulk out the nominations.  As if those people don't fish all the time anyway.

Yeah, maybe.

Problem is, she was only 19, so she only fought the excruciating physical/emotional trauma of terminal cancer for a short while. Poor Bruce, meanwhile, couldn't wear a fabulous Saks evening gown for 65 f'n years.

I am now officially utterly disgusted.  This morning I was watching ESPN and they showed Jimmy V accepting the Arthur Ashe award 20 years ago.  Jimmy V was dying of cancer, died a month later, started a foundation for cancer research that has made $130 million, was out there until his dying breath promoting health, family and love, was supporting those with cancer to fight.  That is a guy who deserves this award.  Not this fucking abomination Jenner for getting tit implants and being mentally ill.  What a fucking crying shame.

This asshole has what a psychologist would diagnose as a gender identity disorder, coupled with a late stage life crisis.  He hasnt been involved in sports in over 3 decades. Then he has some plastic surgery done then kills a woman in a car accident.

the decision to give him an award for courage is ludicrous made even more ludicrous by skipping over Lauren Hill (the cancer stricken basketball player) not receiving the award.

Yes, 'not the only one,' acceptance/validation - this IS a good thing.

Why can't that ever be enough, though? ALWAYS ends up in 24/7 bullshit identity politics, and always at the expense of character.

Oh, other than the fact she had a cock or still may.

I've never been much of person for keeping secrets, but would this count?

I saw his son Brody interviewed on the red carpet.  He kept saying...oh it's great and referring to Bruce as Caitlyn.  Knowing that guy, he was cringing inside but kept the lie alive.  I guess if my dad had 100 million and wore dresses, I'd go along with it...haha

It's pathetic how weak society has become.  Nobody speaks the truth, they just go along with whatever won't create a backlash for them.  Hollywood pussies...typical.

From the Fagggot mafia TMZ

There was a Caitlyn Jenner blackout on ESPY day ... and the reason is all about hate.

We noticed late Wednesday morning if you hashtagged Caitlyn Jenner "most recent" would not come up. That means there was no way to see photos or texts using the hashtag.

The only photos you could see were from a few top posts ... all very nice and positive.

Here's what we found out. Instagram itself blocked its users ability to view "most recent" photos and texts, because there had been a flurry of really awful comments and uploads, including:

-- 'Until you grow a vagina and bleed, you will never be a woman'

-- 'F***ing Fa***t'

-- 'How is this THING rewarded anything'

There were so many negative comments and complaints about those comments, Instagram took swift action.

After Caitlyn took the stage, Instagram re-activated the hashtag and there was a flood of positive comments.

Nevertheless ... Caitlyn clearly has her work cut out for her.

Gotta love the introduction video describing his isolation, lack of privacy, paparazzi-stalking, etc.

Just wrong forcing someone to continually sign-on, profit, and whore-out one's very-public private life to every living room in the world, day after day, after day. Year after year, after year ...

Should be illegal, even.

Did you not catch the part where she said she was doing it for all the other transgendered people who can't take the heat like she can?

Why all the hate? Whether you agree with Caitlyn's decision or not is your business. I don't understand transgender folks, but what they do does not affect me in the least. When Caitlyn was still Bruce, I didn't like his personality. Now that she is Caitlyn I still find her personality arrogant, phony and unlikeable.

What about Chaz Bono?? Cher's daughter she had transitioned from female to male. Why not reward him? He's the first we'll know celeb that did it.. Not Caitlin.

ESPN is sports.  Bruce Jenner was the biggest Olympic athlete in the 1970s, breaking the world record for the decathlon three times, and winning gold at the 1976 Olympics.  Chaz Bono is not a professional or amateur athlete.

Renée Richards was the first public athlete to transition.

Some of the hate going around, I think, is because this is male to female transition. Also she's doing it so late in life that she'll always have male characteristics.

Can you have any more empathy for these people?  I won't embed them, but let you click through.

Did you not catch the part where the intro video portrayed HIM as a tortured recluse, victimized by an intrusive, insensitive media and public?

Now that she is Caitlyn I still find her personality arrogant, phony and unlikeable.

Phony? Sorta like dishonest, right? But he's doing it for others, he said so. Sure hope this is your version of sarcasm, old man.

I applaud Farve for clapping as long as he did. Personally, I wouldn't have clapped at all nor stood, for that matter. It's a disgrace. And it spits in the face of those who possess REAL courage. Bruce is nothing more than an attention whore.

No...no revolution is coming.  Not at all.

It was funny how Brucie had the baritone voice, but was pawning himself as a female.  The entire scene was creepy.  You could feel the awkwardness of the crowd between each pause.  The cute girly jokes about getting ready and so on.  It was a real shame when he cited a transgender who killed themself at 15...and how he was going to hold the flag for the bullied transgenders etc.  As if he was so affected by this that he finally got around to wearing dresses in public at 65.  The guy it utterly gutless and a true attention whore.  the biggest problem is with the media and social media army of clowns who back this.  The next person who calls Bruce a she...I want to smack full of knowledge.  Perpetuating his delusion is worse than him gender swapping.
Welcome to the world Caitlyn!  Holy shit..haha, wow.

wether criminally at fault or or not the fact is if Brucella is not on the road that day, the woman would likely still be alive... I wonder how the womans family feels about his undaunting courage. Certainly there is civil liability.

it s even more cynical than that...grandma was old -and boring-, brucella was loaded with cash... everything was solved real quick.

I saw the speech on sports center.  Claims to be a woman but spoke in his man voice.  How the fuck is the audience not laughing at this shit.
women created this world by feminizing their sons after neutering their fathers or booting them out. Women have taken over. And the anciently christian civilization is now an atheist and feminist, nihilistic, superficial society on the decline. Again muslims and chinese will roll over what is left of the white race very soon.

Bob Costas don't play that shit.

Why weren't any pro athletes working "hands on" in various charities were not considered more worthy of this award.
What about giving it to some special Olympia who competes in their sport with a major handicap?
