First the Mexican comments ...

When that idiot got the job, things are now just funny, in a bad way... Hopefully he drops dead soon.

He's doing them no favours. He's an embarrassment, and is dragging the GOP loony right.

Lol not like hes doing any more harm than the religious right has already done to the legitmacy of that "party"...no one under the age of 50 can vote for a repub any more without feeling totally embarrased. Your basically voting for some loon who thinks creation is real (or atleast acts like it, when asked in public).
-
Well, guess which generation screwed up the nation?
the generation just before mine. they use to be called Dixiecrats. They kept voting against their own interests and for the 1% because of "black people".

Doesn't matter anymore. My feeling will reflect on how much taxes I pay or don't pay. I sure as hell won't pay for bullshit or be forced to.

Lol... Oooohhh those evil corporations!!!! I mean sure they provide goods and services that we all need and want - plus they provide jobs for billions... But - but - but they have rich people at the top that get to do nice things that you can't do and THAT is just evil!!!

what all this means is that executives started gaming the system in the mid 1990s

Who cares? Lessening a CEO pay (as if its a large population ::)) would have what effect on wages? I will tell you. None.
Why not find a real problem and address it. CEO pay, give me a fucking break. You could make their salaries all one dollar and the average worker salary would remain the same. There is no correlation at all with their salaries as you have shown already with your shitty graphs.

I agree with this 100%. But let's let 240 chime in on this. After all he has an MBA.

Give it up. Tim's the new breed of Nazi. People such as he demand equality but only from those they consider better off and what they refuse to earn they will take. In his version of Utopia he's Napolean of Animal Farm fame. And us? We're the expendable ones. Shangri-La? Nope. Glue factory.

Here is your wage problem. Corporatists with their lobby money have bought and paid for Hillary and most of the Republicans. The big time Democrat donators like Apple, Microsoft and Facebook in silicone valley import their engineers so they circumvent USA engineers who want and deserve more. Big time Republican donators like Walmart, Tyson, BP, Ford want cheep offshore labor and or illegals to drive down wages here on our soil. Unions are so corrupt they continue supporting Democrats who take care of each other at the top and fuck the honest men/women in the trenches.
As long as lobbyists and Wallstreet own our politicians, Dem and Rep, nothing will change UNLESS we come up with a businessman billionaire who will CLOSE the border and impose a tariff of 35% on every fucking corporation (like Ford) who builds a factory overseas and tries to bring their product back across our border.
Lets go find that person. Someone who thinks about Americans before he does his golf swing. Jobs before lavish parties. Families before blow jobs from interns. A man who does not give a fuck about his legacy because he already has one.

CEO pay is = their "replace-ability" costs.
There are only a handful of people in the world capable of running a state or running a massive corporation. There are hundreds of millions of people that can be trained in a month or less to do most jobs in the USA. That is why the CEO makes 500 or 600 times. They have a unique set of skills, experiences, relationships, networks, and creativity required to run a ship worth billions and thousands of employees.
Lebron james makes $250,000 per game, and will be near $400,000 PER GAME after the new 2016 TV contract... and he's worth every cent, thanks to the tickets/TV sales/shoe/jerseys, etc. You can't just "replace" a lebron - unique blend of talent, marketability, long-term durability, etc.

The Highest-Paid CEOs Are The Worst Performers, New Study Says
Across the board, the more CEOs get paid, the worse their companies do over the next three years, according to extensive new research. This is true whether they’re CEOs at the highest end of the pay spectrum or the lowest. ....

So you're saying that it's not the "contribution" to society and making it a better and more productive place that matters? That it's the abundance or the scarcity and demand of a given skill set and the wealth they generate that justifies someone who can throw a baseball 90 mph or through a hoop making tons of money over a teacher that are actually educating people and making them more productive?

Donald Trump is not fit to be a president because of his inabiltity to be diplomatic, and because of his vicious attacks at other people. He is direct and honest, which is a good thing, but as a president you have to more diplomatic and watch your tongue. If anyone could start WW3, it would be him. I do believe he would restore America in many great ways though (the economy, the border, the military etc.). I have no doubt Trump would set these things straight, as he is a DOER and not a TALKER. But as we all know, Hillary will be elected president, not because of her so called "competence", but because she is a woman... ::) And the corrupted, lying c-unt will be the doom of you all.
I have spoken.

Wrong answer. The answer is Baby Boomers

Wrong answer. The answer is Baby Boomers
The hippie baby boomers or the racist baby boomer? two very distinct groups.
there are two slightly different definitions of baby boomers 1) born after WWII and before 1964, 2) born to veterans of WWII. While I was born before 1964, my parents were both toddlers during the war. My grandfathers were soldier in WWII, but did not have any other children after the war. So I don't consider my parents or myself baby boomers.
What actions did baby boomers do to mess things up? Be specific. In my opinion, this country prospered after WWII because of the GI Bill (ie, socialism), creating the largest percentage of middle-class in our history. Spending billions on the cold war didn't hurt either. But the cold war ended, and Reagan set in policies that dismantled the middle class. Don't reply with "but deficits" because Reagan created the largest deficits up until that time, only to be outdone by W.

Your damn right its not the contribution to society that matters when it comes to pay.. It's how much MONETARY value a person is to that company... Lebron makes an insane amount of money and as was said he is worth every penny... How do I KNOW that as a matter of FACT not opinion??? Because the owner of the team sees the books and can tell how much adding James means to his bottom line... Get out of here with that dumbass nonsense.. You only earn what you earn because that's ALL YOU ARE WORTH... don't like that?? Become more valuable to someone and you will get it...
No one will make me feel the least bit guilty for my pay. In fact I feel I am worth 7 figures a year and I will get there just as sure as I got where I am...

Class envy. Thank you Karl Marx. How did that work for the average Soviet factory worker. Maybe Bernie Sanders knows. I know its the progressive's mantra to say all evil is Republican. NO. Both Republicans and Democrats feed at the same Corporatist and Wall Street lobby trough. The Dems work the "I'm one of you" bullshit than the GOP. They are for the most part all F'en the same. We need a billionaire business man that is not beholden to lobbyists to grab the Presidency.

Maybe people are looking for someone that is not "diplomatic". When dealing with a country like Iran who don't like us, will never like us, and wants to destroy us (they just recently celebrated their annual "Death to America" day complete with a parade) maybe a little ass kicking will be more effective.
-
Trump is going to damage the republicans so much in the debates.
Most of them don't have the wisdom to remember the one basic rule... " YOU DONT SWING DOWN "
and they will... they'll argue with trump's liberal plant ass, and they'll look foolish arguing with a fool.
Trump now has the biggest support % of any repub in 2015... 24% of repubs now want him to win the nomination. It may be over in 3 weeks if he picks up the early states without spending a dime.

So you agree with Johnny Carson when asked how he can justify getting paid ten million dollars a year? His answer was "Because I can."
BTW, what does how you feel you are worth have anything to do with how much you are actually worth?
BTW again, it seems you missed the sarcasm of my initial post. It was primarily directed to 240 whom I knew would get it. Also, my post about Carson's reply is also being sarcastic.
My question about your worth is serious.

Remember what buried Perot when he had populist support? Trump has come dangerously close with his remark about McCain. Trump seemed oblivious to the fact that McCain refused being released because his father was an admiral so he could be there and support his men. Volunteered to stay in a NVC prison camp and gave his place to someone else.
That is something. That is really something.
"Hero" is tossed around loosely these days. One aspect of a hero is doing something above and beyond. I'm not a huge fan of McCain politically but he is a genuine American hero.
Perot was a bit kooky and a genuine eccentric. Trump is not. I think he will survive this but I think he should apologize.

Donald Trump to Anderson Cooper: ‘The People Don’t Trust You’
(http://static01.mediaite.com/med/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/trump-cooper1.jpg)
Donald Trump got a little snippy with Anderson Cooper tonight for citing not-so-good polls about him, and told him, “The people don’t trust you.”
Trump is leading in the polls, but complained to Cooper that he cited a less-than-flattering poll “I didn’t even know existed.” He said, “You only want to talk about the negative. Why don’t you bring up the positive?”
And Trump kept on this for a while, continuing to air his grievances to Cooper, before telling him, “The people don’t trust you, and the people don’t trust the media.”

I don't have time right now to read the whole article you posted.
CEO pay should be decided upon by boards and shareholders, not by the government.
You're not going to make 6 figures or even mid 5 figures these days bagging groceries at Walmart or flipping burgers. You have to move up in the company, move on to a more lucrative occupation, or go out and start your own company if you want to make lots of money.
The people who risk the most should be rewarded the most. But one factor I do look at when deciding to invest in a company or not is if the CEO and other top managers pay themselves ridiculously high guaranteed base salaries, spend company money excessively on executive "perks", have things such as "tenure", etc.
Very few low level employees will choose stock or options in lieu of cash, even for things like bonuses and other incentives.
If a CEO is the majority shareholder of a company, he can pay himself whatever he wants. I can choose to invest elsewhere or work elsewhere if I think he's overpaying himself.
Shareholders and responsible boards of public companies will generally want for management to have a healthy interest in buying company stock, and also for management to limit their base pay, expenses, and cash comp to reasonable levels.
Many companies are shit, and many CEOs are kings of shit. Invest elsewhere or work elsewhere.
And if it's a private company he owns 100% of, he can pay himself as he sees fit. Of course if it's a small or growing company in it's early stages, he'd probably be stupid to pay himself a 7 or 8 figure base salary... and really stupid to pocket anywhere near any and all company profits as bonuses or whatever. He's smart to put most profits back into the company.
what all this means is that executives started gaming the system in the mid 1990s
